It looks as if the Panthers are shopping Kris Jenkins. I say the Redskins should look into this.

What about a swap of first rounders, (Carolina really wants Landry), and a 5th rounder?

The Skins get Jenkins, the 14th pick, and a 5th rounder.

Carolina gets the 6th pick.

Since it involves the D-line, I'm sure the front office has no interest.

They'd rather pick up more linebackers and defensive backs.

When healthy Jenkins is a top DT. If his injury issues are behind him he's definitely worth a look.

Are you linking us to a post in a discussion thread, or is this coming from a credible source that the Panthers are looking to move up? Seems like just a discussion thread, which is exactly how bad rumors get started. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Isn't Jenkins, the 14th, and a 5th rounder way too much for the 6th pick? I'm not an expert on that draft value chart, but that seems like an awful lot.

This is probably the article this thread was referring to:
Charlotte Observer | 04/07/2007 | Panthers willing to trade Jenkins (http://charlotte.com/141/story/77146.html)

I agree Schneed, I doubt CAR would go for that trade.

That is the article. I'm not sure they would throw in a fifth, but if they don't we are giving a second round eqivalent in the trade. 6 spot is 1600, 14 spot is 1100, the 40th pick is 500, that seems like an awful lot to give up, we definitly need another pick thrown in.

Unfortunately, Jenkins has hated the skins ever since he played for the terps. He's also has had weight, depression and drinking issues over his 2 injury plagued seasons in '04 and '05.

I know what u are referring to when he said he didn't want to play for the skins coming out of college, but seriously things change. Players mature up a lot and if the price is right, i don't think he or the panthers would pass up on a trade just b/c he doesn't like the skins.

if they are willing to make that trade we should go for it. Jenkins is a monster when healthy. So we can fix that d-line issue we have and address another hole with the draft picks.
