I didn't know the Cardinals had real fans
David Macklin our new CBMTK 04-06-2007, 04:00 PM I didn't know the Cardinals had real fans JankySpanky80 04-06-2007, 04:28 PM I looked at his stats from when he was with the Colts and Cardinals. It looks like he can catch the ball. Thats a positive. The real Question is where is he gonna be on the depth chart. We know ade plays Special Teams. I don't think he will be ahead of Rogers or Smoot. The good thing is that the skins have 4 quality corners on the roster going into next season. Focus on the Dline and the defense will be back to its normal self of harassing the other team. More and More i think about it though Laron Landry would be great with Sean Taylor, but D tackle or an end is more pressing need. PSUSkinsFan21 04-06-2007, 04:56 PM Cardinals message boards aren't thinking to highly of him. I'm pretty sure he'll be better than a Rumph or Wright... Heres a little link from the message board, doesn't really mean anything to me. David Macklin signed - Arizona Cardinals Forums (http://forums.azcardinals.com/showthread.php?t=20749) I thought this quote was actually pretty cool.........otherwise, I could care less what any Cardinals fan thinks. "being that i grew up with him, it was very cool seeing him play for the cards the last 3 years. he text'd me wednesday night that he was signing with washington to pursue his lifelong dream of playing for the redskins. imma cards fan for life but imma gonna go check him out in DC. best of luck to him." __________________ Bill B 04-06-2007, 05:19 PM Let's look at it another way, we've got most of our cap tied up on the O w/a no. of D players towards the end of their deals. Plus our greatest needs are on D. We've been able to address the secondary in the offseason, and as Matty pointed out the O line to some degree too. That leaves us the draft for D line & maybe a guard or safety if the right players are available. Other than the Briggs drama, this seems to have been a great offseason. A trade down in the draft would really be icing on the cake. Freddy - I agree with you - I think the Bears being greedy has saved the Skins from making the trade for Briggs. I would say if the Skins can trade down 2 times to pick up multiple picks it would pretty much cap a fantastic offseason. Granted we lost Dock, but the Bills threw a stupid amount of money on him so we smartly let him go to not blow our cap. The team is going in the right direction - just don't do the Briggs trade and address the D Line and hopefully trade down to get additonal picks and we are back on track. Yeah, on the boards they were saying he gets a little to many PI calls. I'm not looking forward to that. Skinz4life 04-06-2007, 09:18 PM Does anyone think that this might set up a swap with Detriot? Our 6th pick and Springs for Detroits #2 pick - this would enable us to select C. Johnson. over the mountain 04-06-2007, 09:53 PM from the skins point of view: springs said at the end of the season he would be surprised if he is back, he was shopped around with the lions and broncos, the team seems very interested in calvin and thinks he is the only impact player in the draft worth top 10 money, he is due to make 7.5 mil this year and more next year, he decided against surgery last year (ala coles), skins have done surprisingly well in adding value depth at corner with smoot and cheap macklin from the lions: lost bly and have noone at corner with lil in the FA market or trade mills, too embarrased and financially commited to wr already to draft calvin and has been reported to be enamored with gaines adams (nice fit for them maybe) who is slotted to fall around the 6th pick so yeah my gut is starting to think the skins already have a contingent trade in order with the lions if calvin falls to 2, which sucks cuz they flooded wr last year convinced it was the one position keeping us from the superbowl becuase it would stretch the field but YOU CANT STRETCH THE FIELD WITH BRUNNELS ARM OR ULTRA CONSERVATIVE DECISION MAKING (thank you gibbs coaching) . . . RobH4413 04-06-2007, 10:15 PM Please say no to CJ. It's just stupid in this offense. We're a run oriented offense. When we pass, we have options (moss, are, lloyd, portis, betts, COOLEY!). We don't need any more. It's doesn't make sense. Joe Gibbs runs the ball, and stops the run. We don't need a receiver, especially with how great of a need we have at defensive line. No more fantasy... let's be practical and address what we actually need, instead of trying to sell more jerseys. over the mountain 04-06-2007, 10:25 PM if you owned the 6th pick and have major needs at DL you could not ask for a better draft scenario, man im going to feel weird on draft day if we draft calvin, i just hope we dont include next years 1st skinsfan242 04-07-2007, 11:48 AM Please say no to CJ. No more fantasy... let's be practical and address what we actually need, instead of trying to sell more jerseys. Let's clear a few thing up here. CJ would fit a run first offsense perfectly, he is a possession receiver who can also stretch the field, and can also block. He is a perfect complement to Moss and ARE. Second, the skins don't want to restructure Springs because that means if we cut him next year our cap hit would be much higher, the Redskins asked him to take a paycut and he said no, they did not ask him to restructure. Third, although our Dline needs another player or two, we have two second year players at DT who are going to be better. Carter will be better, and there is no way we have a down year on the whole dline. Our Dline still has the same players that led to a number 3 defense. The only thing that should prevent us from trading up to get CJ, is if someone offers us a can't miss trade down deal, before the draft. Or, if we have to part with more than a swap and our second rounder next year. Or if we throw in Springs (not a good idea), they need to give us a third or 4th rounder. Our FO needs to remember we have the advantage, Detroit doesn't want that pick. They need to draw the line in the sand just like they did with Briggs and say this is what we think he is worth, nothing more. |
