Daseal 04-05-2007, 12:22 AM Yeah, the influence of alcohol is a very loose term in police jargon. Let's not crucify a man without the facts. You can get a DUI if you blow a .01 AT ANY AGE, if they say you're drunk. It's easier to fight it, but as always the legal system in America works for those that can afford it.
Another little point of contention. When you see the ads for MADD and their horribly made up stats, just remember. An alcohol related crash not only includes a drunk passenger in either car, but simply having BEER in the trunk can be constituted as an "alcohol related incident.
All that said, I feel bad for anyone who goes suddenly for any reason. If the driver truly was drunk, I hope he gets his in prison. RIP to the deceased.
SmootSmack 04-05-2007, 12:42 AM its sad that they lost their life, but theres 2 tragedys here, the family that lost their loved ones and the family that will see their loved one go to prison,I know,my father died in prison for dwi's and it affected my family tremendously.I've seen certain members of the warpath glorify drinking in their post and I would bet my life that they have been drunk and drove, probably 90 percent of the members here have done it at least once,it could happen to any one of us,if you never have than good for you,but i wouldnt be so quick to judge.I dont know the drivers history, but he was only 24,probably out partying with his girlfriend, who among us hasnt done that?
One of my closest friends is doing serious time in prison for vehicular manslaughter following DWI. It sucks not having him around but it can't compare to what you and your family went through.
I hear what you're saying about probably 90% of us drinking and driving. Unfortunately it took my friend going to jail for me to be smarter about what I do when I go out. But before then there were times I drove home and the next day couldn't believe I dared get behind the wheel of a car.
But, either way horrible tragedy for everyone involved in this situation.
ArtMonkDrillz 04-05-2007, 07:43 AM Dude was also the mastermind behind Porky's and AMD's favorite movie RhinestoneRhinestones is great, and I do have the title tattooed across my back, but it isn't my favorite Clark movie.
I'm a bigger fan of Loose Cannons, because 1) Gene Hackman wears a Redskins jacket the whole time and 2) it has my name in the title.
And Porky's has one of the best life lessons in any movie - don't stick your junk in a hole in the wall.
May he RIP.

According to reports, the driver was driving without a license northbound in the southbound lanes while under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. I don't care if he was distracted by a beer sign, I hope he goes to jail for a long time.
