BrudLee 04-04-2007, 10:47 AM Eddie Robinson displayed class throughout his storied career. He would be a great man if he hadn't won a single football game.
Rest in Peace.
warriorzpath 04-04-2007, 10:54 AM He seems to have been the anti-Barkeley.
Black or white, he seems to be an interesting person to learn a lot from.
artmonkforhallofamein07 04-04-2007, 11:44 AM He was a great man. We should all hope to be so great in this life. My prayers and thoughts are with his family today.
Wow, RIP Eddie. You did a great job, largely in a time when it was difficult to do so............
100% PURE WHOOP ASS 04-04-2007, 01:01 PM Your simply the standard in which all coaches or measured. RIP
skinsfan_nn 04-04-2007, 01:39 PM Good Man! May GOD be with the family in their time of need. God Bless
Monkeydad 04-04-2007, 02:08 PM He contributed so much to college football.
I hadn't heard of Grambling State until Doug Williams came to us. I noticed his college team was playing on TV one year not long after SBXXII and saw how great of a team it was to watch. I watch the Bayou Bowl with Grambling and Southern every year as I do the Army/Navy game. Eddie Robinson was one of the greatest coaches and individuals college football has ever known. To get as many wins as he did with such limits as the school had was an amazing feat that not many (if any others) could have achieved.
He'll be missed.
