I really hope this is the end of it. I'd like to see them develop Rocky.
That being said, the fact that they were looking at Briggs really speaks volumes as to what they think about the 6th pick.
The Skins really want out of that pick. So much so that they were willing to trade it for a player that doesn't fill a glaring need.

I would be astonished if we actually showed restraint and didn't end up pulling the trigger on this deal somehow. I can't think of another example of us trying to do a deal and not getting it done because we couldn't meet up on terms. We always end up bendng a little more and making the deal happen.
I wouldn't put too much stock in any of this nonsense. Trade up, trade down, keep the pick...no one knows what they are really thinking, and they shouldn't know until we're on the clock. Personally I think that is best.

I'm still sickened that we made the offer
It just shows you the complete incompetence of our FO. After all the bad moves they have made why in the hell would they make this offer? You think they would have learned by now.

Hooray for us! We finally managed to not do something blunderous.
Here's to utilizing the pick for our gain.

Or it speaks volumes about what they think about Rocky. And for that matter Marshall too.

Nah, I believe that they are high on Rocky given what they gave up for him last year, and if the Skins were so down on him they would have gladly offered him up to the Bears.

Not to fast with the ending, the part with the deal not lost "yet". Might just be offer one doesn't work is there an option two? Pretty good chance.
I'm also, just wondering what they are thinking about with Rocky talent wise?
LM we could part ways with in my opinion, not that it's a good idea to give them anyone!

Well I think we can all agree that Briggs is better than Rocky and Marshall and he would be an upgrade to our LB corps. I think this is just another case of our FO looking for the quick fix instead of letting their young players develop.
I really hope this is the end of it. I don't want to hear anything else about the Skins until draft day when Goodell steps up the podium and says "with the 6th pick in the NFL 2007 draft the Redskins select......".

So now that Briggs is out of the question, I'm guessing Vinny is on the phone right now with the Browns FO trying to trade up to fill another need that isn't there. Please god, don't let that trade happen either. When will we ever learn? Anybody have anything to say that can cheer me up?

I agree Matty, because while there are some players there that could help us along the DL, I'm not convinced there's anyone there they want to pay #6 money too. I think they're looking for a little more "Bang for the Buck".
