The Zimmermans 03-28-2007, 05:08 PM Bly was still a steal in my mind. To put up those numbers on that bad of a team is impressive at the corner position. I'd rather him than briggs personally. Springs staying healthy is not an option, cause it never happens. And anyone who watched the skins knows that neither smoot nor rogers can keep up with #1 receivers in this league. We gotta pick.....good pass rush, or good coverage, right now we have neither, and arent addressing either one.
Dirtbag59 03-28-2007, 05:28 PM Now we can focus on drafting Amobi Okoye.
Beemnseven 03-28-2007, 05:31 PM I hope this doesn't impact their cap $ to the point that they no longer want to trade up w/us.
Good point. You would think they'd have passed that threshold long ago.
Hopefully the hype surrounding LaRon Landry keeps up, and other teams (Atlanta, Carolina) are willing to move up.

Yeah, I agree. Now that Bly is off the table, it looks good compared to the Briggs deal. If for no other reason than our secondary has bigger question marks than the linebackers do.
Come to think of it, was that deal (Bly + the Broncos 1st, 2nd, and 3rd for Springs and our #6) ever really official? At #21, you probably lose out on the top tier defensive linemen, but I could stomach that with all the other selections better than I could Briggs and the 31st pick .
dmek25 03-28-2007, 05:40 PM is there a such thing as a sign and trade, kind of like the nba? and as long as springs stays healthy, which is a big if, the corners are fine
RobH4413 03-28-2007, 05:45 PM is there a such thing as a sign and trade, kind of like the nba? and as long as springs stays healthy, which is a big if, the corners are fine Yeah, All I'm saying is that we need to make another move. I'm not content with what we have, there is no way we finish the season with Springs, Smoot, and Rogers all healthy.
If they were all robots, then yes.. I'd be content, but they won't last. We'll find something, no doubt, I'm just saying I think it's a high priority.
SmootSmack 03-28-2007, 05:49 PM Draft Calvin Johnson and move Brandon Lloyd to DB
4mrusmc 03-28-2007, 05:50 PM Our secondary will be fine. We need D-line heip. If we do something STUPID during the draft I will just puke.
RobH4413 03-28-2007, 05:51 PM Draft Calvin Johnson and move Brandon Lloyd to DB
I hate Lloyd so much. It's not even about football anymore. I just hate him. Like his soul.
WillH 03-28-2007, 05:57 PM Damn... I was holding out hope that we'd get him...oh well
Its a bit scary though w/ injury prone SS...
As for Free Agents left, Chad Williams seemed to have the best stats, and hes fairly young...might be worth looking at. Although he could only help by adding a little depth, he seems to have been a consistent backup, maybe he could help to keep SS, CR, and FS healthy by rotating in...
I really dont know anything about Chad, has he signed anywhere? Are his fairly impressive stats as a backup not indicative of his ability to contribute? Does he have any issues I'm not aware of? Would the redskins consider him? Is this list of questions annoying? Do I look like I care?
