Big C 03-26-2007, 10:22 PM i actually think this would be a really good deal. briggs would be an upgrade over both washington and macintosh on the outside and we'd still have a first round pick, although much lower. we'd have awesome linebacker depth and would be able to rotate them. briggs is a pro bowl linebacker, this is a good deal if it happens IMO. this is a deep draft, there will be a good player at 31 and would upgrade the defense
Rajmahal33 03-26-2007, 10:23 PM This rumor can't be true, as it is stated. I could maybe understand if we got a 2nd AND 3rd round pick in addition but PLEASE tell me this is a joke if we are just swapping 1st round picks.

Briggs would be our best LB, but this is the type of move that has burned us bad in the past. A potentially (because we don't know how much of his production was simply a product of his situation) overrated linebacker and a non impact 31st pick for the 6th pick in the draft.
I don't like it at all.
FRPLG 03-26-2007, 10:25 PM my heart sank. this would be terrible. last i checked, briggs doesn't play DE or DT. getting a bit angry thinking about it.
don't get me wrong, briggs is great and a big upgrade over marshall, but we've got 3 starters and an untested rookie at LB, so giving him an AT type deal without addressing the DL seems a little backwards...
Angry is probably the best emotion on this deal. I swear if we pull this deal it will test the hearts and minds of many.

posts like this remind me why i joined this site if we dont get their 2nd rounder with this than this trade is bullshit i mean briggs is good but what the hell we are dropping 25 picks not to mention the ost important thing WE ARENT GETTING ANY MORE IN RETURN DONT LIKE IT AT ALL RIGHT NOW
henry12portis26 03-26-2007, 10:27 PM I think Briggs is amazin'... he was all over the place during the SB and would fit in well here but that means bye bye to Marshall or Rocky so Im on the fence ...
Big C 03-26-2007, 10:28 PM if this were to go down (i hope it does) i think we'd have to try and sign ian scott, and maybe briggs could persuade us to do so since he is a former team mate
redskins5044 03-26-2007, 10:28 PM i dont want this to happen either but rajmahal what r u talking about we should also a 2 and 3 rounder too. he has a franchise tag on him we should be giving up more too get him. maybe if we our defense only needed to improve at LB i would be ok with this trade but thats not the case.

if they dont pick up an additional pick then i dont like it at all
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 03-26-2007, 10:30 PM As you guys may have noticed, I tend to think the Skins FO is unnecessarily vilified for a lot of the moves they make. But if this trade goes through like this, I really can't see any way to justify it
I agree on both counts. Yet more ammo for the press and, this time, we'd deserve taking all the fire.
