zo4skins1 03-26-2007, 09:49 AM WASUP SKINS FANS.......First I would like to thank you all for allowing me to join your site. Now on L. Landry everything Ive read about him has been positive speed. tackling & attitude but we need D-line help bad. Ive been following the available free agents and there are still a few decent Dt out there who could help strengthen our line and the front office seems to be attempting to show restraint and hopfully this will continue into the season. HAIL TO TH REDSKINS...............:goodjob:
dmek25 03-26-2007, 10:08 AM welcome zo, and beems, i love the analogy. our secondary had better be the best tacklers of all time. because if we don't fix our defensive line, there will be plenty of down field tackles available
TheMalcolmConnection 03-26-2007, 10:13 AM That does make a lot of sense as well. I'd much rather have someone get stopped for a short gain, rather than have the most SURE TACKLING secondary ever after the RB has already gotten four or five yards.
724Skinsfan 03-26-2007, 10:23 AM I'd rather reinforce the bed frame.
What kind of burglar are you expecting?
Andre Carter is not the youngest defensive lineman, btw. Unless Golston and Montgomery are getting cut, we should see a lot more of them in the rotation this year. Regardless, we still need an infusion of youth along that line, maybe it's not imperative for the 2007 season but we are going to be hurting a lot sooner than later. In the next 2-3 years time we're probably losing Griffin, Daniels, Wynn, Salave'a due to age , money or health. The carry-overs would be Carter, Golston, Montgomery and Evans...{whimper}...

golston and montgomery don't really count since they're not starting quality linemen at this point. until they are, you've got to assume them as question marks AT BEST.
GTripp0012 03-26-2007, 10:59 PM I've all but given up explaining to people that the defensive line is a bigger need than the secondary.
It would be like forgoing deadbolts on the front door to your house but strengthening the locks on your bedroom door.I guess a Briggs deal would be like putting up a gate in front of the hallway then.

once again a great point made we NEED Defensive lineman we are getting all this "depth" at o line but not a d line and i just want to know WHY!?!?!?!?!

But if we DONT make the pick now, come 2008, we still won't be getting any return on investment from anyone but potentially Carter. It is imperative that we get a young DL guy into the "Farm system" so that come 2008, we have a 2nd year guy ready to step into the role.
I see this as a must have.
TenandSix:Unacceptable 03-27-2007, 02:15 PM Not to beat a dead horse, but what happens if ST goes down? More reason to like the LL pick even though there's no way we'll do it.

So we should draft this guy in case Sean Taylor gets hurt?
