yeah, but where do we get an early second? moving from 6 to 9 doesn't really get us that. b grubbs is probably in the 20s of the first round somewhere.
Early second comes from the hopeful (eventual) deal with a few of the people enamored with Quinn or Peterson. Possibly early second from Houston.

Isn't it a virtual certainty that Quinn and Peterson will be gone within the first four picks?

peterson is more likely to slip than quinn, but no, you have joe thomas, russel, and johnson that could be considered better by any team, meaning at least one will make it to #5 at the very least.

Yeah, when you think about it, why would Cleveland pass up on Calvin Johnson?
Isn't he miles apart from Adrian Peterson in terms of potential? Plus, the Browns just got Jamal Lewis.
The more I ponder it, I don't think there's any way CJ falls past the #3 spot.

I would be hard for Cleveland to pass on a freak like Calvin Johnson, but if Brady Quinn is there.... Plus they so recently drafted Braylon Edwards and Kellen Winslow Jr. and have no one to get them the ball. When you have Derek Anderson and Charlie Frye as your QB's you have to draft Quinn or Russell. I think CJ goes to the Bucs at #4

I doubt Cleveland takes CJ. I think ulimately they'll take a d-lineman.

without a QB though, how far is that really going to get them? I mean, i like frye, but he's a backup.

Man I gotta tell you guys Grubbs from Auburn would sure replace Doc, actually I think he would be an upgrade over doc. This guy has a motor.

big upgrade over doc... but i don't think we'll be able to get him unless we trade down (to the 20s or so) and decide to wait on the DL until the 2nd round.

I hope that all this silence is the FO actually thinking and planning their next move instead of signing every tom dick and harry on the market. I hope we trade down to get more picks but not too far down to miss out on drafting Carriker from Nebraska. Plus remember there could be some proven OL talent that gets released on June 1st.
plus just cause we dont have any visitors doesnt mean we arent trying to get guys...maybe they just dont want to visit here
