The Broncos want to trade up to get our number 6 right? I'm just wondering how much the value would decrease if we swapped with the Texans to number 8. The two teams that would leap frog us are the vikings and the texans. I feel that the Broncos are trading up because of a specific player in mind. What chance do you think us swapping with the texans first will affect our trade with the broncos? What are the chances that one of these teams want the player that the broncos want?

They're gonna have to go higher up than the 6 to get Peterson, he's probably gonna go 3 to the Browns. The signing of Jamal Lewis aside (it's a one year deal, hefty for a year, but still just 1) I think they still have running back issues. Everyone else is switching to the 2 back system and having Lewis and Peterson could be lethal, I like the way Peterson runs and Lewis could spell him, that sounds pretty good to me. Besides, there's not much reason to take Quinn at 3, they need a QB, but I say grant Troy Smith's wish and see how that turns out.

Exactly! Troy Smith is just what the doctor ordered. "Hometown Kid Makes It Big With Buckeyes, Now a Browns QB." Could you imagine the jersey sales? He would definitely put asses in seats. I mean why not? Size?(Drew Brees) Arm strength?(rocket!) Wonderlich?(please!) Besides, he can't do much worse than the shmucks they already have!

troy smith probably isn't going till at least the 3rd round, so that might work.

Troy Smith is going to be a 3rd round choice at best. I think the Browns will have an early pick in that round and could pick him up. Very much a good "business" decision to nab the hometown boy if they could.

I agree with you about the Browns wanting Peterson.
Plus, as I said in another thread last week, I can't imagine the Broncos trading away that many first day picks just to pick up a running back when they seem to be under the impression that it's all about their system. There are enough good running backs in the draft that should be available in the second that they probably don't feel like they need to target Peterson.

the broncos seem to able to plug anyone into the running back position and gain 1300 yards. i dont think the are looking at peterson

the way Wilkinson has played the last 5 or 6 seasons, he should have retired long ago
