Not a bad deal. Should end any Betts to Jets talk. There are some rumors also of a trade involving Vilma and some picks to Detroit for the #2

It's odd to me that running backs have so little trade value now. I would consider Thomas Jones a pretty damn good back and he coupled with a #2, only moved them up 27 spots in the draft. Strange to me...I understand no one really has a old school #1, but still...

Yeah, I agree -- that's a head scratcher. You would have thought Jones was more valuable to the Bears than that. I guess they have big dreams with Cedric Benson.

Still, thanks to our lovely 5-11 record, the #37 pick is a high second rounder. Now, the Jets have their running back and STILL have two 2nd round picks.

I'd like to be on the Jets end of this one.

bad trade for the bears... guess jones forced the issue so they took whatever they could get. great deal for the jets. he's got years left and he can play.

Even Jones for the 2nd-round would've been in favor of the Jets because Jones is one of the top RBs in football, but the Bears had to toss in a draft pick too!
