Man, it sure would be nice to have that second round pick this year.

Can we give Rocky to the Jets and get it back?

How would you like to be Charlie Casserly? He pulls that brilliant move with New Orleans and does the Sean Gilbert thing - a guy who never did diddly-poo as far as I can remember (those DTs will really let you down), leaving us in the catbird's seat for two years. Then, he gets fired instead of Norville. Life's not fair.

Writing this reminded me that no one who watched this team in the mid-90s can possibly think that we suffer from poor DT play. We remember what that looks like and last year wasn't even close.

Those were some tough years defensively, no doubt.

You must have missed the last game against Tiki and the Giants. What about how Stephen Jackson and the lowly Rams bitch-slapped us and jammed it down our throats? There were plenty other times when running backs treated us like Sherman marching to Atlanta.

#27 against the run and #31 overall -- That's pretty smelly, too you know.

Anyone know of a website where you can get stats from like 10 years ago? I'd be willing to bet that 2006 was about as bad as it ever got during the Norv years.

What sort of stats are you looking for?

Overall offensive, defensive stats, -- like where we ranked against the run in 1997, that sort of thing.

The 2001 Draft pissses me off the most - we needed a guard that year and I remember the analysts saying Steve Hutchinson keeps falling and the Redskins had a chance to take him but instead they take WR Rod Gardner instead.

Well this gives overall offensive/defensive stats

I know there's a more detailed site, but I'm drawing a blank on which it is

I have two words: Dexter Nottage.

OK, Dexter Nottage was a 6th round draft pick out of Florida A&M. You were expecting Merlin Olsen?

Look, if your point is that defensive tackles are a big gamble, fine. But what player isn't? It doesn't mean you ignore the position. For too long this organization has looked at the D-line as an afterthought.

Did you roll your eyes and cuss out the 49ers when they drafted Dana Stubblefield and Bryant Young one right after the other? How about Jacksonville with Marcus Stroud and John Henderson?

Seriously, what is it with you and drafting D-tackles?
