George Michael had him on his show after last preseason/start of regular season. Riggins asked him what the difference in schemes was in NY as opposed to the one here in DC, and he said... and I quote...

"At least in NY they have a scheme" and smirked.

Fag.

GW is you're daddy Lavar. Go eat a dick.

I think you're overstating your case by quite a bit. I don't think Lavar will come back here either, but I definitely don't think it's out of the realm of possibility.

Dale Lindsay was canned, so that tells you that Gibbs, and maybe GW too, didn't like his style. That tells me that Gibbs may not have been thrilled with the way Lindsay handled Lavar, which tells me that Gibbs' door could possibly be cracked slightly when it comes to welcoming Lavar back.

Secondly, you're acting like Lavar Arrington has options. I don't think he can dictate who he'll sign with. His achilles is devastated right now, and if he were a prominent free agent in the minds of GMs around the league, I think we would have heard of him meeting with some teams by now. I think Lavar's options are limited. So if he isn't going to get paid well, from his standpoint, why not go back and play in the town where he still maintains his permanent residence. Why not go back and play for the fan base that will still embrace him.

He's an emotional guy, he often can't control his emotions. He's likely a wreck emotionally right now, having to deal with his injury, and with no team coming knocking at his door in this crazy market, his emotions might be running high, and he might be thinking a homecoming would feel great. He's gotten three big paydays in his career already, his rookie deal with the Skins was a big one, then he signed that big extension with us, and then he got paid by the Giants. Same thing happened with Smoot, they both got paid already, and things didn't work out. They've got their money, now maybe it's time to just go back to their comfort zone.

And if it's vet minimum, what does the team have to lose? There's no signing bonus involved, meaning no cap ramifications. We could cut him in training camp and be no worse for the wear.

I still find this all very unlikely, but to insinuate that it's not even worth discussing is wrong.

You make some good points, however you are underestimating the chemisty factor. LaVar would be terrible for chemistry. Plus where is he gonna play?? With the signing of Fletcher we now have good depth at linebacker. Is Lavar gonna play special teams?? Is Lavar gonna keep his mouth shut?? All reasons why they will not bring him back, not even for the vetern minimum!

This would be a horrible move unless it was for him to retire. We already have Washington at SLB, Fletcher at MLB, and Marshall and Mcintosh fighting at WLB, where in the world is he going to fit in 3rd string WLB?

i welcome ol lavar back. i hope this is true and you cant tell me if he is on the team and starting at weakside backer! ol fed ex will be absolutely on fire. i love lavar and i think we did do him wrong but he cant hold that against us either....thats how you kiss and make up let bygones be bygones.

I think that's just what the Redskins intend to do where LaVar is concerned, they're going to "let bygones be bygones. I don't see how even he could expect to come back to a team where he has called it's coach the worst coach he has ever played for. Yes!! He said it, and I have the tape of the interview where he said it, and I hope Joe Gibbs has it too. If he dosen't, and they just "THINK" of bringing that guy back here, I will send it to him.

Wow, such hostility towards LaVar. Some in here are acting like he dumped them on prom night.

A man should be able to express how he feels. LaVar, unfortunately, cut off his nose to spite his face. If the coaching staff at Redskins park are willing to forgive him and patch things up, I can see him coming back.

i'd be skeptical of this at best. at vet min he would be worth a flyer though, since, if he's a distraction, he could be cut easily.

%$#@ that he had a chance to stay and went to a division rival. I say you made your bed now lie in it. We loved you when you were here and all you wanted to do was leave so now retire somewhere else.

What does this guy even have left realistically?

If he does come back I hope he comes back humble as all hell.

I loved LaVar when he was here but his final days here left a bad taste in my mouth. I know it wasn't all his fault but he wasn't an innocent party either.

1) Lavar was playing strong side in NY. maybe he's accepted that as his position at this point. He could back up Washington, who needs to be spelled some as he plays every snap.
2) Lindsey is gone, who knows how much the coaches blame Dale L.?
3) Most Important: this rumor is almost certainly not coming to fruition unless Lavar FIRES THE POSTONS! The Danny hates those guys & I believe the rift started when Lavar sided w/them in the contract dispute.
