I think this is probably being talked about in the other trade about Plummer but I wanted to add that the Bucs inked Garcia. I think that Gruden knows he needs to win now and adding a veteran like Garcia could help his chances.
I also think its extremely bizarre that they add Garcia to then turn around and finish the Plummer trade. Sounds like a strange situation to me.
ESPN.com - NFL - Bucs agree with Garcia, trade for Plummer (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2786694)

Yeah, plus trading for Plummer means they lose a mid-round (4th, I think) pick. It seemed like the Plummer retirement talk was going to be a blessing in disguise for the Bucs, but I guess not.

If Plummer doesn't report to Tampa Broncos don't give up their draft pick.

Plummer stands to make somewhere in the neighborhood of $15M in the next three years if he is on an NFL roster with his current deal. Would you try to make a squad that wanted to trade for you under those circumstances? I would.
Gradkowski played himself out of a job. He has one or two very good games at the start of his run and then got worse week by week by week. He will probably be looking at NFL Europe as his next venue.
Garcia and Plummer were both "coveted" by the Raiders if you believe the scuttlebutt. Now the Bucs - no friends of the Raiders - have both and the Raiders have Andrew Walter. Maybe a deal involving some of those juicy Raiders draft picks could happen?
