DAVIS WANTS BIG MONEY
Word on the NFL street is that free-agent offensive lineman Leonard "Big" Davis, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2001 draft, is looking for $23 million in guaranteed money.
We're told that the request was made during a visit by Davis to the Cowboys.
Consequently, the visit was a short one.
Hey, if the guy was that good, the Cardinals' line wouldn't have been so bad. And the Cards would have used some of their staggering cap surplus to keep him.
Next up for Davis is the Redskins. But if they weren't ready to pay Derrick Dockery, why would they pay Davis?
Not gonna be a skin, for this kinda cash! I HOPE!

Isn't it sad to have so many needs and so few draft picks? I will admit, though, that I hate the idea of starting a rookie at LG. But can we afford a competent FA replacement for Dock, who we couldn't afford to keep?
yeah but dockery got majorly overpaid he got a higher contract than hutchinson did last year

re-signing wade would be good, if it was cheap... he's probably looing for a starting RT job though.
we did sign pucillo, but... no clue on if he can start at OG and play well or not.

The pool of top guys are drying up. Get Wade and draft a guard in april by moving down from that 6th pick. That way you have someone to step in if Wade doen't work out and a young guy for the future!

Couldn't we promise Wade an open competition with Jansen? I thought he played well in the N.O. game. One of our better rushing contests. Assuming he doesn't catch the big money wave rolling in right now. I guess what you are saying is we may not be able to afford him because he will get starter money. That is a problem. How do you build depth when anyone with a slight claim on being a starter gets 50 million dollars?
I wonder how Pucillo feels today. Dock is a bazillioanire and he gets the min. Oh cruel fate!

Could easily be solved through the draft if the Skins had their 2nd, 3rd, or 4th round picks . . . hope they keep to their word and don't go crazy this offseason again. They give away draft picks like no one else in the league, drives me crazy.

I would like to get Davis, but a cheaper alternative might be Floyd "Porkchop" Womack for the Seahawks, he is 6-4 330 lbs, and has started 32 games in 6 seasons, he is said to be a great run blocker but shaky in pass protection.

this leaves us holland and?
doesn't seem like Davis really had any interest...just using the skins to drum up more money...seems like he wanted to stay home all along...
