Samuels is the premier left tackle. Davis would play guard and the fact that he can play left tackle is just gravy.
His versatility alone adds enough value for me. I think at guard he'd be just as good as Dock and with being able to slide over for the oft nicked Samuels is really a blessing. I really think we should make Davis a priority. Of course the standard disclaimer of: If he will sign for a value contract. If I see some ridiculous SB for him from us I will be pissed.

me too, I'm worried about this one. I wish we could just suck it up & draft a guard in the later rnds, bring a couple undrafted rooks in & sign a vet or 2 post 6/1 when more fa's will be available, rather than for the quick fix w/a guy who from all indications does not sound like he's shown the passion & fire that this line needs. I would rather see a youngster who is less gifted but is firey & wants to win.
If he would sign for about an $8mil bonus he may be worth the chance, but I doubt that.
Davis is looking for a payday no doubt. I hope we're just toying w/the cowpokes & they sign him for a $18mil bonus like Dock got!

If we can get davis we would have a very dominant O-line.... Now we need to solidify the Dline, is kearney comming in for a visit? Or is the Strahan rumor true?

They're letting him go for being lazy. Is he REALLY going to be an upgrade for the future or stop-gap?

I think being apart of team like ours and out of Arizona will have a major effect on his play. Similar to when Rice left to the buccs...

True enough. AZ is typically a cemetary for players.

I worry about picking up rejects from the Cardinals.
Kinda like picking up rejects from the 49ers. Good thing we never did that before...

I kind of hope we get Davis, he would either provide great depth to our o-line, or even be able to take over for Dock at Guard, and from what I am hearing he likes playing Guard much more than tackle which is what ARZ was playing him at the last couple of years.

DAVIS WANTS BIG MONEY
Word on the NFL street is that free-agent offensive lineman Leonard "Big" Davis, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2001 draft, is looking for $23 million in guaranteed money.
We're told that the request was made during a visit by Davis to the Cowboys.
Consequently, the visit was a short one.
Hey, if the guy was that good, the Cardinals' line wouldn't have been so bad. And the Cards would have used some of their staggering cap surplus to keep him.
Next up for Davis is the Redskins. But if they weren't ready to pay Derrick Dockery, why would they pay Davis?
DOUBT HE'S GONNA BE A SKIN! AT LEAST I HOPE NOT. NOT FOR THIS KINDA CASH!
