Who would pay such a ridiculous bonus to Dockery? Let's rewind the tape for a moment.

Lavernaeus Coles was looking for an $8M signing bonus but Danny Boy wanted to "lock him down" for the Skins and paid $10M. More than a few folks here thought that showed Danny Boy's genius in getting the deal he wanted done immediately and with no one else having a chance to make a counter-offer.

When Brandon Lloyd came here via trade WITH AN EXISTING CONTRACT, Danny Boy and his front office minions decided to tear up that EXISTING CONTRACT and pay him $10M as a signing bonus for a whole new deal. How's that working out?

Those are just two examples of paying far more than necessary to "make a splash"; there are others...

Let's see...who might pay a ridiculous sum in terms of a signing bonus???

Dallas and Miami are "in the mix" for acquiring Dockery. Do not be shocked if the Rams get involved too.

Who is Wade? A guy who sat on the bench for us last year?

Also what is are our other options at LG, who else is out there and available and is not going to cost ridiculous money?

He's also a guy that many scouts think is a starter. He came to us after an injury year and came from a bad line. He proceeded to basically play as well as any lineman played for us all year in that one game. I think Wade at $2 million is a way better value than Dock at $4 million (and growing as the seasons go on) for a guard. I know it's a crazy market but we got needs and Wade can fill at RG sufficiently enough for me. If Dock can't get in at a reasonable price than hasta baby.

Lloyd's existing contract was a one-year RFA tender.

Alright FLPRG I'll take your word for it and I know we have other needs. I really would like to see some good D help. What about Nick Harper the CB out of Indy? Any one heard what he might be asking for?

My guess is that all of the CB's are going to get some coin. I think Smoot could be viewed as a troublemaker and damaged goods so we may have a shot at him at a reasonable price.

That perception of him also allowed him to slip to us in the second round.

Don't get me wrong, he isn't a shutdown corner by any stretch but signing him could prevent a slide similar to the one that we faced when Springs groin went out...

FOX Sports - NFL - Top five free-agent offensive linemen (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/6517396)

Dock is not even in the top 5 free agents for O-line.

Well they're the only ones who have Gandy and Carlisle rated like that. Hell they have Gandy over Dielman which seems like a serious stretch.

I wish I knew what was going on with the Dockery negotiations. I have heard however, from a pretty reliable source, that Dock’s agent’s initial proposal to the Redskins was a $17 million signing bonus. Yes, $17 million.

Now clearly (I think) this was just a starting point for further bargaining. But it gives you an idea of Dock and his agent’s (Todd France) ultimate asking price based on their starting point.

THATS :censored: INSANE!!!!!!!! love ya dock, but your out of your :censored: mind if you think the danny OR any team is gonna cough that much up.

Personally i dont think ANY football player is worth a bonus that :censored: huge. you know how many cold new castles and hot wings that can get ya? speaking of new castle, im kinda thirsty, brb.
