After Clemons was cut, Williams made a few less than glowing remarks about him. However, in 2005 he seemed to make an awful lot of plays, especially when you consider that he saw limited action. The fact that Clemons hasn't surfaced on any of the other 31 teams as a player of note ought to tell you something. The fact that Clemons hasn't surfaced on any of the other 31 teams as a player of note ought to tell you something. Retreads are often backups. Moreover, Clemons wasn't picked up by anyone because he had what amounted to a season ending injury. I would be surprised if he didn't re-surface. He's not a starter, but he's an adequate backup. He wasn't particularly good in coverage or the run, but he had a knack for rushing the passer.
