Could the Redskins actually be considered stable?

Look at the list of teams that have made coaching changes since Gibbs came back to DC:

Dallas**
Detroit
Green Bay
Minnesota
Atlanta**
New Orleans^
Arizona**
St. Louis
SF
SD**
Oakland (twice)**
KC^
Houston
Pittsburgh**
Cleveland
Miami (twice)**
Jets^
Buffalo

^Playoff teams with new coach
** New coach in '07

That's a whole lot of turnover in the past couple of years, over half of the league has changed coaches. Only 3 of those teams have made the playoffs with their new coaches so hopefully stability will be a key to success in '07.

I would say if we resign Dockery we would have all of our core guys we want back and add a few here and there and we should be set. I like the fact that Snyder and Gibbs did not panic over this past year and hung on to most of our coaching staff. With that said we have not reached free agency yet and who knows what will happen then. Stable right now yes.

Although I'm not the most thrilled person with this staff right now, ten and six next year will cure a lot of my criticism.

Contrary to what the media will lead us to believe when August rolls around, the Skins actually are becoming more stable under Gibbs.

you will see a whole lot of moving and shaking if the skins don't make the playoffs this year

we are stable, yet unstable in several keys positions (e.g. DE, CB, DT, & LB)

I wanted to see if anyone has heard any rumors about the skins hiring Bill Cowher next year? I thought I heard or read this somewhere, the article stated that they would move Gibbs into a front office type position and then hire Cowher to run the team. Being that I live here in Utah redskins news is hard to come by (goodthing for the Internet)!!

If this team is a loser again you wont have to say it, Gibbs will pack it in on his own.

"We suspect that, once Joe Gibbs retires as coach of the Redskins, owner Dan Snyder will throw a package worth $10 million a year at Cowher, who figures to be at the top of the list for any team with a vacancy come 2008."

Pure speculation

Stability at coaching isn't necessarily a good thing in and of itself.

There was incredible stability between 1994 to 2000 with Norv Turner. But it was still a bad team season after season that ultimately was a complete failure.
