The only good thing Lavar ever did was lay the wood on Troy Aikman. Other than that, he was a huge disapointment!

Lavar did not reach his full potential. But to call him a huge disappointment is ridicules. He's not in the class of Heath Shuler.

If I remember correctly didn't Trotter leave Philly on bad terms and go back to have a productive career? So why can't Lavar and Mgt throw all the BS under the rug and offer him an incentive contract? It's not like we are loaded at LB. We have one proven LB on the roster. And the FA market isn't looking so good either. 50 year old, undersized London Fletcher is not the way to go. BRING BACK LAVAR.

I do wonder if the redskins would take him back... especially all the troubles we had this year with the Defense in his departure. Although he didn't play much, he was a leader

Because Trotter didn't have two knee surgeries and an achillies injury.

Not to rain on the parade but I have heard a hundred times that Taylor and the other guys on the defense are undisciplined. So what exactly would Lavar (even less disciplined than the group that we have now) be bringing to the table?

If he would accept a minimum deal, I would let him try out. That is it.

Am the only one believing that Lavar is old and injury prone? I think it would be a terrible move to bring him back. I was a solid supporter of Lavar when he was here but when he ended his contract and said that he wanted out, I was done. You don't want to be here, I don't want you here. Go to San Fran, they apparently have lots of money to throw around. Although I hope they steal Stallworth from the Eagles 1st.

Poor Lavar, how does minimium wage sound Lavar ??? Good Luck...DON'T COME BACK... USED UP HAS BEEN OR NEVER WAS IS MORE LIKE IT! Surprised at the Petitgout move he's been a solid OT. Another suprise if they depart with Chad I thought he played well in NY.

I recall reading that Reid kept in touch w/Trotter & offered condolences when he blew his knee out here. I don't know if Gibbs called Lavar when he ruptured his achilles, but some of Lavar's words about Joe were pretty harsh. In addition, the Danny hates the postons if not Lavar too.
That was probably the most tragic aspect of Lavar's career in Wasington, not the injuries & undisciplined play, but his standing by his agents while the nflpa & congress questioned their ethics.
I said it in several of the many Lavar posts, I really believe the rift w/Lavar & the Danny all stems from the postons.

I wonder if this means the g-men are ready to make a serious offer to Briggs. He may be franchised soon, but that can lead to a trade.

That is what I said. Sign him to a contract that is loaded with incentives only if he passes a physical. I have heard that he is way ahead of schedule if that means anything.

Lavar tends to wander a bit. But all I know was his last year here, when he was on the field, he was making a difference. He was getting the ball carrier on the ground all by himself. So if he can do that then he's better than Marshall and Holdman. However I'm not sure how that would impact Rocky since they play the same position. So it's probably not going to happen.

I'm going to eat crow now. ESPN is reporting that Arrington, Carlos Emmons, and Luke Petigout have all been released. That means that the Giants enter the offseason without two starting OLBs, a starting LT, a starting HB, or anyone of note at DT. Wow, and I thought we had holes.
