It's just UnAmerican not to tailgate before a Football game...

This reminds me of where I go to school...We're only allowed to tailgate in this little 100 by 100 yard spot and the police start writing tickets for public drinking the second the game starts...makes me really hate watching football here

I know I'm a little late, but I have to say it's good to have you back sportscurmudgeon. You and GTripp always have such nice long (but not wordy), informative, and articulate posts.

Sheriff:

Nice to be back. Thanx for the kind words.

And let me say, it has always been my policy to stay on the right side of the law and the lawmen. ;)

The motive behind this has to be money. I'm not sure how, but it has to be.

If the NFL is in agreement with this, then shame on them. If not, then they should overrule the dolphins' decision, or bar them from hosting a Superbowl ever again.

What's next, no standing at your seat? -- er, nevermind.

It's the NFL that says no tailgating, not the Miami Dolphins.

the article says that there is NO LAW that prohibits tailgating outside the stadium. if the police tangle with someone over this issue, come super bowl Sunday, i see a law suit waiting to happen
Its probably private property and if they say its not allowed than it can be inforced.

I don't know why authorities feel the need to restrict someone elses fun. I can understand it in the event someone might get injured, so for their own protection, but in this case, I don't see the need.
Keep in mind I will be in Miami on the 4th for Super Bowl Sunday. Of course I will be on a cruise ship setting sail for the Caribbean, but that is just samantics...

I do plan to stop by some super bowl festivities and enjoy myself though. I might ask some fans what they think of the no tailgating rule.

Whoops, my bad. My feelings haven't changed, however.
