Isn't Buffalo going to try and keep him? I doubt they are just going to let him walk away and not get any compensation. Especially for a top NFL corner. They don't grow on trees. And if getting Clemons requires giving up picks then FORGET IT! The Bills franchised him last year with the promise that they wouldn't do it a second time (my wife reads on the Bills all the time and follows them closely). There will be no compensation to give Buffalo. I'm very worried at this point, I really thought we would have figured this out by now. Big C 01-27-2007, 08:48 PM Everyday this dosent get done, is another day closer to him not being here. I watched him get interviewed after a game and it really sounded like he was waiting to test the free agent market. I think that there is a good chance that he resigns, but he seems intent on finding out his value first. For this reason, I see Nate Clemons being the first guy signed. artmonkforhallofamein07 01-29-2007, 02:17 PM If the Colts win the SB I'm pretty sure they won't franchise Freeney. I'd like to see us go after Freeney because he'll make our defense so much better. The Colts GM was on Moving the Chains the other day and said that D F will be a colt next year and for most of his career. if he does not sign before March 1st they will slap him with a Franchise tag. Just an FYI hail_2_da_skins 01-31-2007, 01:27 PM here's the problem and what's wrong with our secondary: -we let ryan clark go, he was starting for the steelers this year. -we let walt harris go, he was starting for the 49ers this year. -we let omar stoutmire go, he was starting for the saints this year. -we let matt bowen go, he was starting for the bills this year. -prioleau got injured on the first snap of the year and was gone. -sean taylor isn't the guy to be lining other players up. -archuleta isn't a guy you want covering anyone. -vernon fox is a special teamer, not a good NFL starting safety. -carlos rodgers has serious issues with playing well 14 weeks this year, and even on his good days he can't catch. we don't have the horses, it's not just a scheme thing, its a serious personnel and depth issue. prioleau will help, rodgers MIGHT get a little consistency. our depth just isn't nearly as good as the last two years though. I agree with you. The Redskins need to change their free agency philosophy. Stop letting decent players go and throwing big bucks at marginal players. The Skins need to keep their CORE players intact and build through the draft. Stop going after high priced free agents. It should be a priority to bring back players like Derrick Dockery. He is a solid guard. He works well with the current line. You bring in another and it could possibly upset the chemistry. That's what happened with the secondary. The Skins let Ryan Clark go and the whole secondary suffered. The injuries to Prioleau and Springs amplified the problem. vaoutlaws2006 02-03-2007, 07:30 AM My guess is Nate Clements will get a huge deal as Redskin One arrives in Buffalo at 12:01am. LMFAO!!!!!!! couldnt have said it better. I am sure redskin one will be fueled up and sitting on the runway the night before free agency starts. All i can say guys is this is what we do best we win the offseason superbowl which never brings results when it really matters. Cap room - schmap room. These guys always find a way to get just about anybody. The thing is, we really, really need Clements. If not him, somebody at his level. The crowd we have now doesn't work. We'll do worse this year if something's not done. |
