AlvinWalton'sNeckBrace 01-21-2007, 03:11 PM you can't just blitz a player every time you bring him into the game...that takes away all of the surprise factor...that's why his complaining never made sense to me, he had to realize that he'd be in coverage some...this is also why we can't find a place for him
dmek25 01-21-2007, 08:33 PM A.A is definitely a better player then matt bowen. i thought bowen had mild sucess while he was here. i still A.A can work here, given the right circumstances
Redskinhog1963 01-21-2007, 08:39 PM hold the door for him when he leaves after cleaning out his locker!
freddyg12 01-22-2007, 09:42 AM Either blitz him, or let him drop into zone coverage in the flats. If he shows some improvement in coverage, let him go 1 on 1 w/tight ends, but if he can't do that, NEVER put him man to man on anybody, including tackle eligible guys. I don't know if AA could cover the Colts' Klecko!
freddyg12 01-22-2007, 09:43 AM Invent the cover 3 (er 2 and a half in Archuletta's case)!
cover 3 has been around
gabe1984 01-22-2007, 10:03 AM I remember when Archuletta was with Ram's he was considered a pretty good safety. He used to have an overall rating in the 90s in Madden Football, that's pretty good. I just don't understand how he can all of a sudden be this horrible, I mean, he doesn't even look like he belongs in the NFL. I dunno, I think if I was Gibbs and Williams, I'd bring him in during the offseason, have a sit down meeting and say something like. Look Adam, we still believe in you, we want you to be a part of this team, but there are certain aspects of your game that you still need to work on. We want to help you get better, stay around here in the offseason, let's put the past behind us and make it work. They need to talk to him figure out why he thinks it didn't work this past season, and help him fix what he needs to work on. Then, if it still doesn't work, I'd let him go.

either the staff hates him or he hit the wall. it happens.
firstdown 01-22-2007, 11:57 AM AA did come out and sadi something to the effect of that the big contract distracted his play and but allot of preasure on him. I think Carter said about the same thing but he let that go and just went out and played the last 5 or 6 games of the year and did improve. Maybe being benched and another year in the system he will start to live up to his contract. I think our D as a whole started thinking to much last year and did not just go out and play. They just never had that play that got them rolling.
The Huddle 01-22-2007, 12:09 PM How many think that Archuletta's decision to chose his own workout regime during the offseason, as opposed to being at Redskin Park set him back in his preperation for the season?
Not me. I think this idea that you have to be at Redskin Park in the offseason is a crock. Most of the guys made it, and we were 5-11. Hard to make a case that it's a big deal with results like that.
Monkeydad 01-22-2007, 05:06 PM We should use him exactly how I use him on Madden.
Make him the nickel back and blitz him every time he's on the field. It works very well on Madden.
