Im honestly surprised that all of you picked the Colts. Its really hard to bet against Belichick and Brady. I think they are 11-1 in the playoffs together and they always find a way to win even on the road. I honestly picked the Chargers last week, but now think its an impossibility to bet against the Pats. They always seem to have Indys number in the playoffs.

The Saints are the #1 Offense in the league but are playing in Chicago. If Grossman showed any kind of consistentcy I'd have to go with the Bears, but since he can't do that I can't either. It will be tight game until late in the second half when the Saints pull away.
Saints 21 Bears 13
Im sure there will be a superbowl prediction thread so until then, I'll keep my picks to myself. Plus if Im wrong I get to start over.

Patriots 28 Colts 24Well, the Colts-Pats game strikes me as one that will be decided in a way by luck. Which way will the close calls go, which way will the ball bounce, who will screw up in crucial situaitons? I really don't think theres a wrong pick here and I'm equally surprised as you that everyone in the world is taking the Colts.
If the Colts win, it will be all like "How could you bet against the Colts at home." If the Pats win, its all about "How could you bet against Brady/Belichick in the playoffs". It just seems like a game where the fan is always wrong.

its going to be a patriots vs. saints super bowl.I don't see two upsets...I think the safe money is on the Colts and Bears, but I wouldn't be shocked to see one or the other contest fall the other way.
I'd be very surprised if both road teams won.

saints over da bears-24-21(bears had the league's easiest schedule)
colts 38-24 over the patriots
(i think that the league is hoping for a saints/colts matchup because of the katrina angle/the saints being payton's fave team
as a little boy.)

I was salivating to be the first to bring about these points exactly, but you beat me to it.
My numbers are a bit different, though...
Pats 38 Colts 24
The patriots can change their identity on a whim and look like a completely different team one week to the next. They will dominate the colt's defense.
Saints 28 Bears 24 This one was my iffy one, because the saints kinda squeaked it out against the eagles at home, but every time I've bet against them this year I lost. Go Saints!!

As badly as I want the Saints to win, and as much as I believe that on a neutral field they really are the better team, I just can't see a team that plays in a dome going on the road and winning in Soldier Field, in January, in a conference title game. The Saints are a great story, but this is the time of year that the great stories tend to fall by the wayside.

My head tells me that, all things being equal, the Colts are slightly better, meaning they're distictly better at home. My gut tells me that Dungy and Manning are both due, that Belichick and Brady have another title coming but not this year, with this team, and that I'm about to pay dearly for all the mouthing off I've been doing in the ongoing Brady vs. Manning debate.
History talks louder than both. Show me.
