Does Lofton have any coaching experience?

The Raiders DO need to WR help though...but I doubt even Lofton can help Randy Moss turn his career around.

Honestly I think Lofton could be a good decision for the Raiders. They are a good offense away from being a decent team in the NFL. They do have the talent on offense (well except for QB, but they'll get one either through free agency or the draft.) Sometimes these things work out with guys who haven't had a head coaching gig yet. Then again I thought Art Shell would be better then Norv for the Raiders, but look how that turned out.

i do not think the raiders will ever be a good team until al davis either totally retires(very unlikely),from running the raiders or he dies!he always is going to think he knows more than any coach he hires, and he is always gonna pick his own players whether or not the team needs that player or not!it was stupid to
bring back shell for 1 year last year, and basically not let him do shit with discipiling any of the players davis likes like randy moss!if i were a raider fan,i'd hope davis died so maybe they could get back to being those mean sobs they were in the 60s,70s,and80s!

Redskinhog1963:

Take your description of Al Davis - with which I totally agree - and change the name to Danny Boy Snyder.

Other than Davis' previous success in terms of building an NFL team that was a major force in the league over several decades, how is Davis all that different from Snyder? Oh, I know, Snyder hired Joe Gibbs who's a Hall of Famer while all Davis did was hire At Shell who's ...

Lofton was one stud of a reciever. Boy, was he good. I remember is Packers years more so than the other teams he played for. It never occurred to me that he was head coach material though.

did'nt he get cut for good by the nfl for allegedly raping a woman in the late 1970s or 1980s?

I think he was accused of forcing oral sex on a woman at gunpoint. But then it was later found to be consensual and she was blackmailing him...or something like that. Not really sure.
