I'm trying to differentiate a mentor and a coach, I think I've failed.

I think where you are failing is in understanding what a QB coach does. He basically is the mentor. I don't see a distinction in this case beweteen coach and mentor.

The Redskins already have too many coaches. The rule should be that they have to fire - not reassign - two assistants for every new guy they bring in until the number is down to about 17 total.

Someone mentioned that the Skins would be hiring Richie Kotite any day now because of his former head-coaching experience. If that happens, then you'll know for certain that the Washington Redskins have become a circus and the clowns are in charge.

Of course I was only kidding when I said that.....I hope

[quote=TAFKAS;269475]Because he doesn't have "Former Head Coach" ahead of his name. We tend not to value coaches much if they weren't once head coaches. Pretty soon we'll be hiring Rich Kotite.[/quote
that would be my worse nightmare. for some reason i just hated that guy

I wouldn't be opposed to bringing in Mike Martz as a QB coach. I don't know how good Lazor is, but he can't be better than Martz at developing QBs.

I don't think Martz would slum as a QB coach. He is looking for another head job so a QB coach spot would probably not be very interesting to him.

I have no good reason to think Lazor has done anything but a good job. Campbell wasn't a total mess and looked pretty prepared to me. He might have some mechanics to work out but this was Lazor's first year with him. Give him a whole off season more until we decide how good a job Lazor is doing.

Yeah. It's wishful thinking more than anything.

I remember hearing in an interview right after the Giants game JC will have someone woring with him over the off season I can't remember if it was the aforementioned Saunders or Lazor but one of hte two already has a plan lined up that includes working on his mechanics and sending him to the same NFL QB camp that the Eagles sent McNabb to that helped get him into shape.

I think the problems that Campbell has is due to a lack of game experience rather than a lack of good coaching. Campbell is young and it was probably a lot going through his mind in games. Whatever the coaches worked on with him was not in the forefront of his thinking process. Once he gets comfortable and his confidence level rises everything will come naturally and the game will become more simple. He already has the tools so once he gets the game down I do not think that he will have any problems adapting. It is all a part of progression.

Just what this team needs, another coach.
