I think bringing in Warner as a back-up would be a good move. Not sure what his contract situation is, or if he's willing to accept a back-up role. But I think he would be an upgrade over Brunell and Collins. He already knows the offense. I'm sure Gibbs wouldn't go for it since Kurt is a little loose with the ball. Comments?

He fumbles too much and I don't think he wants to be a backup.

I think we should try to go one offseason without bringing in a brand new QB.. but pending Brunell's recovery I suppose this will need to be re-evaluated.. later..

I had thought about it, but I'd rather go younger

I think that it would be a good move. I can't think of a better way to make the transition to Saunders offense go smoother. With our o-line and running back situation, I think that a guy like Warner could thrive. Money is the real concern right now. Brunell makes way to much to be the backup, coming off major shoulder surgery. I love the guy, but I don't see keeping him as a good business decision.
Do we draft a guy with a late round pick and trust Collins as the backup or do we go after a guy like Warner believing that we are Superbowl bound again next year?

i agree. and last year in preseason, collins got better and better. and already knows the system. and is cheap. and hopefully will not have to play a down

Yea right, Warner has been like a deer in the headlights for over 4 years now. There is nothing He could bring to the team at this point. But why where at it Vinny Testaverde and Drew Bledsoe will be available this off-season. Why not sign them? I heard Dave Krieg wants to come out of retirement and play one more year maybe he could back up J.C. Because we all know Gibbs likes veteran QB's.:)

Assuming Brunell recovers from surgery and returns to his 2006 form, you might as well keep him here. Warner isn't an upgrade over a healthy Brunell.
Now if you want to upgrade at that slot, you don't want either guy here. Their days of glory are in the rear view mirror.

Mr. Cerrato is that you? Should we shell out an eight million dollar signing bonus and trade our 5th and 6th round picks for him? I would think any washed up QB on the market would give Redskin fans the serious heebie jeebies.

I don't think that "deer in the headlights" have two 1400 yard receivers. This is a very intriguing idea if he will sign for the minimum.
