Of course, this does raise the thinking (I'm sure) that the only reason Campbell played was not due to lack of performance on Brunell's part but an injury.

Either way, I'm happy to move forward into the Campbell Era. And I remain a fan of Brunell, though I don't think there's much more he can do here.

He could be super smart and play his guts out.

I'm sure the injury to Brunell played into their thinking when making the switch to Campbell, but a change was coming regardless.

Asked last week if he expected Brunell back next season, Gibbs said: "Mark and I had a good, long talk. It was real positive. We like Mark a lot. Hopefully that will work out for us."

Translation: Oh, hell no!

I tried looking for a quote on ESPN.com, but they reported yesterday that Gibbs said he wants Brunell back.
I agree because we're not going to find a better back up to Campbell.

He also plays hard and gave a great effort. After throwing for 78 total yards.

So we're not going to have any cap penalties if he retires right?

Wasn't that spoken to in the post article? The decision to change QBs had been made based on when we reached a certain number of losses. The injury just made it easier to pull the trigger.
