But come on guys, week 5 interconference games would lose their magic if there was a playoff!

Actually I don't think that, but that's seriously an argument that people make. I don't get people like John Saunders who continue to defend one of the great tragedies perpetrated on the the sports viewing public. Every other year a team gets in that doesn't deserve it, and another team gets screwed. But as long as the ratings stay high, and the money keeps flowing in, they won't change a thing.

But come on guys, week 5 interconference games would lose their magic if there was a playoff! But that's just it. Do we really want NCAA football to become NCAA basketball? I mean the NCAA basketball tournament is wonderful television, but why would anyone want to watch the regular season? If your team is talented enough, it's pointless. Like a schedule of 30 preseason games. Win 6 games at the end, and you are the champion.

I like the idea of one postseason game at the end of a long season, like NCAA football sports right now, but the system needs to be refined. The computer average is alright, but take the polls out of it. Polls shouldn't be official. They are nothing more than public opinion.

I don't think he is related to Sinorice or Santanna, the media would have mentioned it. Here is the other Moss brother. Lloyd Moss bio - Florida International University (http://www.fiusports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=49160&SPID=4780&DB_OEM_ID=11700&ATCLID=562152&Q_SEASON=2006)
As far as the BCS goes, I think it's going to take a while for it to change to a tournament because of all the money that the schools who play in a BCS Bowl, and non BCS bowls for that matter, receive. Right now there are lots of Bowl games, so many teams have the opportunity to earn money for their schools. If we went to a tournament, there would not be as many teams involved, and therefore colleges have less of an opportunity to receive money. I feel like having a 12 team playoff would be great, but it's going to take a while to get to that level. For example, Maryland played Purdue in a bowl game this year. Neither team had a chance at winning a national championship, but they both earned money for their schools and just got to experience playing in a bowl game. If we had a 12 team playoff, I don't think lower bowl games like Maryland vs. Purdue would exist anymore, why would anyone really want to watch that if they're not in the tournament. University Presidents from schools that are not perennial football powers will not want to go to the playoff system cause they want to make $ for their school in a bowl game.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a tournament, I just think we're going to have to have a few more seasons like the past one with all the upsets, or a season where there is atleast 3-4 teams who go undefeated.
I hope in the near future than can move to some type of hybrid of BCS and a tournament with a +1 game. The top 4 ranked teams have a tournament. 1 plays 4, 2 plays 3, and then the winners play each other. Wouldn't it of been nice to see Florida vs. USC?
In addition, I disagree with what GTripp is saying in that the regular season doesn't matter in college basketball. The regular season matters a lot because your record determines where you are seeded in the tournament. I know there are always upsets but you do generally get to play easier teams the higher you are seeded.
