Three!

Thanks, Hog1.

That's pretty impressive on the Skins part, if you ask me.

We (me included) constantly talk about the turnover, which we've had. But I'm slowly starting to realize we have a pretty stable situation here.

I'm willing to bet there aren't more than 3 or 4 offensive lines that have been together longer than ours.

Let me throw this challenge out there too. How many teams finished the season with more than 10 starters in the lineup that were actually drafted by said team??

I hear you. I think the argument some would make against that is that our bench doesn't have a lot of people we drafted. That most other teams have used the later rounds of the draft to get young guys who can fill the roster. Whereas we overpay for past their prime free agents.

No, that's a legit argument, and I'm there.

I guess I've always assumed that it was the other way around though.
I was just pleasantly suprised that we had that many starters we actually drafted.

...and trade away draft picks like they grow on trees.

12th, I think you might be missing the point of why some people, myself included, are "whining about the past."

I don't bitch and moan about missed opportunities and lost players simply so I can up my post count and have something to whine about. I think the consistent inability to retain valuable players has been the downfall of this organization.

As far as I am concerned, the point is not to whine about players from the past, the point is to highlight exactly why this team is where it is, and why it might have problems in the future. Sticking my head in the sand and ignoring the past just seems naive.

History is always an excellent indicator of future performance. Not perfect, not flawless, but a hell of a lot better than an optimistic hunch or good feelings about next season. In the words of George Santayana, “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

I think though that sometimes people generalize too much and label everyone who's left as a huge loss. But anyway, so long as we're not consistently in the playoffs people have a right to be upset.

Again, agreed on every single point you make. You've expressed my sentiments exactly.

Okay here's my thought process and tell me if I'm still missing something here...seriously.

I'm not saying it's wrong or that people should no longer post or discuss the current situation with regard to our process of obtaining and releasing players. Neither am I saying, ignore everything and let's just move on from the topic all together.

What I am saying is, I've personally failed to look at and appreciate the talent that we currently have and the people that we have drafted because I've been so caught up and focused on the failed opportunities for the most part.

So, I said to self..."self, I think it's a good idea for me to not specifically keep mentioning AP and a few others we've lost because whenever Marshall or Rogers or whomever had a bad game it would piss me off that much more and wishing they were here.

This is getting way too deep for me:(
