many have heard me complain about this a lot. I go to UMD right now and there are raven fans everywhere. I can't find a good skin fans. No joke there are more fans of other nfc east teams on the floor than there are skins fans. I would say there are only two true skin fans, myself included. THere are like 3 eagle fans and like 4 Giants fans. Its horrible.
There are a ton of raven fans. You are right; they are the most annoying people in the world. They just don't shut up. I know i am going to hear about them and how bad the skins are today when i head on down to the umd basketball game and my friends who are raven fans are there.

The thing is, some of my best friends are the raven fans. Like I said we are going to go down and watch the game tonight. I guess a common interest in sports is a good thing.
When we beat the Cowboys last year in Dallas on Monday night I was at Cornerstone watching the game. The whole place erupted when Moss caught the first touchdown, I went freaking nuts and the bouncer told me to settle down or else he'd kick me out. And then after he caught the second I flipped out again, went over to some girl I didn't know wearing a Skins jersey and picked her up off the ground with a big hug. It was pretty sweet cause the whole bar was filled with Skins fan, everyone was givng each other hi fives and hugs after the game, it was the best Redskins experience in College Park ever. My roomate is a Dallas fan and the whole time we walked home from the bar I sang Hail To The Redskins to him, it was so great. Plus, the whole game the few Dallas fans that were there were talking shit, and after the game we started singing that song "Nah Nah, nah nah nah nah, hey hey hey, good bye" and pointing at the Dallas fans in the bar, it was awesome.

I am 22 years old, was born in Annapolis, grew up in Maryland, attended college at the University of Maryland, and still live in the same great state. For my entire life I've been a diehard fan of the Orioles and Terps, but if there is one thing I cannot stand about the great state of Maryland it is the RAVENS!!!! I don't know how I can explain how much I dislike that team. It's like when they came around I was semi-excited, I thought to myself, I'll be a Skins fan to the death, no matter what, but I'll pull for Baltimore's team too cause I like Baltimore. It seemed like no one really liked the Ravens for a while, until they made their playoff run and won the Superbowl. And since then all Ravens fans, or atleast the one's I'm friends with never shut the hell up about the stupid Ravens and how bad the Skins are and it drives me freakin nuts!!!!!! I mean in my opinion most Ravens fans are traitors because they had to like another team before they liked Baltimore, and then they changed allegiances. At my friend's party on New Year's Eve I met this guy wearing a Ray Lewis jersey who said he converted to the Ravens after being born and raised a Skins fan, I wanted to throw up, and it wasn't because I drank too much. There's this other guy I grew up with who didn't even like football in highschool, and now he's this huge Ravens fan, just cause they're doing good this year and he talks shit all the time, drives me insane. I dunno if it's just me, but their fans, atleast the ones I know, are just flat out obnoxious and it's caused me to hate a team from my home state! If they win the Superbowl this year, I just don't know if I'll be able to take the bragging that's going to come. Oh yeah, I already posted this picture once, but it was at the end of a thread, so I dunno if anyone saw it, but this is what happen to me when our boys lost to the Ravens the last time they played them. Trynna Go??? (http://www.geocities.com/boogymn459/classic_blue.html?1046133180706) I'm the one in the purple, I had to wear that outfit all day, and I had to go to class, it was a horrible day. Does anyone else share my opinion of the Ravens, or am I being an unreasonable, angry, angry Redskins fan?

If the Ravens win I'll be eating a lot of crow...

I'm a nats fan, a skins fan.........and an orioles fan. It's pretty much the only way you can do it if you live in washington. You cannot abandon the orioles just cause a new team came to town, so i support them.....and you SHOULD NOT abandon the skins if the ravens came to town. If you can stop being a fan of a team and start to hate them.....then you were never really a fan. So those ravens fans that were once skins supporters and now root against washington cannot be considered true fans of any team at all......at least not until one generation passes.

I've never heard the expression "eating a lot of crow," I have an idea of what it means, but does anyone want to explain?

I live in Baltimore and listen to Ravens crap all the time. I where my Skins stuff year round and catch hell for it. What pisses me off is that, basically, Ravens fans are front runners. The have had a successful team for 5-6 years out of 10. The Colts left town bc of a shitty owner BUT also b/c the Colts were losing and they lost their fan support. Hell, they couldn't fill Memorial Stadium. If the Colts had been winning, the fans would have demanded that the city find a way to keep'em.

The Skins' fan base has lived, and thrived, despite the decades of losing in the 50's, 60's and 90's. Irsay was a crappy owner? Aren't you telling me that DS is too? What about old GPM who refused to sign black player?

So what do I say to Ravens' fans chirping about the recent success? My comeback is the standard, 3 SB's 4 NFL championships in 70 years. And then I throw this at them. "Well at least we could hold onto a team, talk to me in 70 years - then let's compare notes." Man does THAT piss em off. I generally finish with the classic "besides, I don't know why you Ravens fans are so fixated on the Skins' - we couldn't care less about your team." Leaves them sputtering in their crabs and Natty Boh every time.

Skins' fans stick around "win, lose or draw". Ravens fans stick around for "win".

Ohhh, summer time, you won't get here quick enough! I'm not a Ravens fan, but I definitely enjoy pickin' me some crabs, and drinkin' Natty Boh down on the shore, hon! http://www.nationalbohemian.com/archives/icons/Natty%20Gold%20Icon.JPG

It's weird how I naturally accepted the Nats coming to town from Montreal (being an O's fan), yet can't stand the Ravens coming to town from Cleveland. I guess it's the nature of the beast. While there are diehard baseball fans, there is something about football that just stokes the ego. And there is a certain un-earned arrogance about many Ravens fans that just pisses me off.

But to each their own. I'd like to see the Chargers and Saints in the Super Bowl. 2 quality teams that have both sides of the ball covered particularly well.

I don't hate the Ravens ... that would require some passion about them. If the Ravens won the Super Bowl it would have absolutely no impact on me.

I think the Redskins fans living in the Maryland suburbs are much more likely to be impacted by the Ravens than I am.

I don't hate the Ravens. I DO hate the Orioles. You're too young to. When I was growing up we had the Senators. Lousy team, but our team. Then Bob Short (may he rot in peace) "changed" them into the Texas Rangers. Then we might have gotten back baseball in Washington. But the Angelos family (I hope they get stuck in jail with sex offenders and no supervision) who owns the Orioles had veto power to keep a baseball team from coming to Washington. They figured Senators fans could become Orioles fans. Go stuff it up your a** Angelos. (The same lawyer family that negotiated the class-action cigarette case in Maryland that resulted in between $500million and $1billion in legal fees!) We were only able to get baseball in Washington by bribing the Angelos family.

How do I want the NFC East teams to do in the playoffs?
1) The Cowboys: I hate them. I do NOT want them to do well.
2) The Giants: I don't like them, but if they do well they might keep Coughlin. That could be very good news for the Redskins. I also think the fans won't be too obnoxious about it. I think even they know they'll need a lot of luck to do well in the playoffs. I also think Tiki has earned it.
3) Philly: I don't like the fans, but if they won I don't think it would bother me. They've come close a lot of times and done amazingly well this year, all things considered. (i.e. with Garcia.)

I'm a nats fan, a skins fan.........and an orioles fan. It's pretty much the only way you can do it if you live in washington. You cannot abandon the orioles just cause a new team came to town, so i support them.....and you SHOULD NOT abandon the skins if the ravens came to town. I hate the Ravens fans but I like their team. They are built very well, have a good GM and they BUILD THROUGH THE DRAFT.
