Once the talk started, I was pretty sure he was going back. I am betting he never really had any deep desire to leave the college ranks but just got an offer he couldn't refuse.
Peter King was convinced that this guy was the next "great thing in coaching" - wonder what his take is now?

If I was a Tide fan I think I'd be sort of pissed that they just spent all that money to rent him for a few seasons. He might be capable of another quick turnaround, but he'll probably be gone by '09 when a bigger, better deal comes along.
