Move AMD to DE - I got Sapp's back at 6'2" 275. Since I am the slowest white man ever (I make Grady Jackson look like a sprinter), I am only good on the line. Hell, I am so slow even AA could cover me.

Nobody is that slow. Nobody.

Larry King runs a 17 minute 40-yard sprint and AA got completely lost trying to keep up with him.

AA would finish last in the special olympics.

I've been hearing a lot about Lance Briggs -- there was a short piece on him the other day on NFL Network. Very underrated, in the shadow of Urlacher, but quietly has a huge impact for the Bears D.

He'll command top dollar, no doubt -- and if I'm wrong, the Skins will offer him double.

Good thing we shipped out Ramsey before thinking about bringing in Briggs. :D

Remember the un-fined dirty hit that ended Ramsey's career as a Redskin in Week 1 of last year? :)

I thought it was a dirty hit (obviously high) but after Brunell took us to the playoffs, I actually wanted to THANK him for removing Patrick.

Do you guys really think that signing Clements to a huge deal will help us that much. Havn't we learned by now that signing players to huge deals doesnt mean huge success. I think we should just draft a corner with the 6th pick and start him off at nickel. Also the return of priouleu will help out alot. Last year when our defense was ranked 9th we had the same core group of guys starting, so i dont think that a huge overhaul over big more big name free agents is going to improve. I think we just have to put our faith in the coaching because we know we have enough talent because we've all seen what they can do. Its all about Greg Williams if u ask me, not personel

Typical fence sitter that I am, I agree with some of this and disagree with some of it. PLAYERS (Springs, Daniels) have said that our defensive talent is not up to snuff. Since these are guys who have the talent to be successful, and I haven't played a down in the NFL, I will take them at their word. At the same time, I think GW "got some thinkin to do" b/c, with essentially the same lineup, the defensive dropoff from last year to this year seemed precipetice (even taking injuries into account).

I would like to play GM here and Makeover our defense here is what I would do with each position:

DT: I would draft Alan Branch I think he could come in and make in impact right away for us, I would keep Griffin as our other starter, and I would also like to groom Golston to become our starter once Griffin leaves. I would rotate Salava'e, and Montgomery.

DE: I would like to sign Justin Smith from the Bengals to become our starter at LDE, I would keep Andre Carter our starter at RDE, I would draft a DE as a project in the later rounds maybe Justin Hickman from UCLA, and Daniels and Evans would make a good rotation here.

LB: I would like to sign either Kawika Mitchell, Lance Briggs, or Adalius Thomas to come in and play MLB, I would keep Marcus Washington at SLB, and start Rocky McIntosh at WLB. Lemar Marshall and Khary Campbell would rotate and serve as backups.

CB: I like Shawn Springs and Carlos Rogers as our starters here for one more year I think the changes made up front will greatly improve their play. I would keep Kenny Wright and Ade Jimoh to serve as backups, and maybe draft C.J. Gaddis from Clemson in the draft, but I think in 2008 we will have to look at signing or drafting somebody to take over for Springs.

S: I would have Sean Taylor start at FS, and I would sign Ken Hamlin from the Seahawks to come in and start at SS I think Taylor and him would get along greatly with Hamlin being our new Ryan Clark. I would keep Prioleau, Fox, and Doughty as backups.

This sounds like one of those nutty beer commercials! We could have Danny and a Pit bull sitting around while these guys walk off the plane with all of the Redskinnettes running around in thongs...

:nono: no way will you be playing on the field. your great mind is so inventive that we will need you on the sideline. only you have the ability to run this defense that you inspired so many to join.

--clements---------------------------------rogers--

------------------------------taylor-----------------

i expect many players to restructure and some guys to be released to free up cap room. the fletcher signing is dependant on how much he wantsYep, this is pretty much exactly how its going to be next year, exception to Vernon Fox being resigned, I don't think we will.

I'd like to keep 5 DTs on the active roster (Branch, Griffin, Saleve'a, Montgomery, and Golston), and keep at least 4 active each game. We should rotate our defensive line, a lot like we were doing down the stretch last year to help take advantage of tiring O Linemen and get some pressure on the QB. Both the Ends and the Tackles should rotate.

While I think Justin Smith would be a better End than Daniels, I don't think he's coming here:

1) We just signed Carter last year, dont want to lock up too much money in one position.

2) I know from their time in Chicago toghether that Greg Blache loves Philip Daniels. Feels that he's got a good chance to get the QB every time hes in. I personally question the wisdom of teaming Daniels with Carter, but a DE rotation can fix this problem.

3) MLB and CB are bigger needs and I would be shocked if we gave a big deal to Clements, gave a reasonable deal to Fletcher, and still chased Justin Smith.
