50% is not going to get it done with the types of throws he attempts.
He throws too many grounders and has trouble on third downs.

Last night he was 16/18 at one point and made some great throws. But that was one quarter our of a few games.

I give him a D because he has missed too many simple throws and checks down too fast. and because im still mad about the game...

he gets an A from me because he gives us a chance to win

most of the throws he misses are timing throws that can easily be fixed. good poise, and moves well in the pocket. some issues with hurrying some throws( all footwork) that can easily be fixed. overall, pretty impressive for someone that has been sitting around as long as he has

I'm giving him a solid B.

Based on the fact he went from the #3 to the starter and had no meaningful work with the first team is really amazing considering what he accomplished in such a short period of time. The things I really like is he appeared to get more comfortable with each start, he likes to take his deep shots, and he's always cool under fire.

Just wait until he settles into this offense and develops some chemistry with his WRs, the sky's the limit for this guy.

Pretty harsh man, for a guy making his first 7 starts what did you really expect? From your view I guess you don't see much promise in him?

Ditto, my man. Going from number three to starting is vastly different from going from number two to the starting QB.

He basically learned on the fly, and did darn good. I gave him a B.

Missing the short throws bothers me. he short hops too many throws for a guy with a "strong arm".

I think he has a good future because he has all the intangibles.
But I'm not grading his future, I'm grading his past.
I can overlook the usuall rookie mistakes but I can't overlook his struggles on third down and his missthrows.
He really struggled with the must fundamental part of being a QB, Getting the ball to the WR.

Those are all timing issues, which will be corrected with practice and experience.

Guys have practice speed and game speed, which they pointed out last night is why Campbell has such a good comfort level right now with Cooley. Cooley goes 100% in practice just like in games so the timing is already there between the two. The timing between Campbell and Moss is lacking right now and I think that's something that will be an easy fix as they work together more.

Not to take this thread off topic. But I didn't really understand that comment about Cooley last night. Because what I got out of it was that guys like El, Moss, Thrash, etc. aren't giving their all in practice. And it struck me as odd (and unfortunate) that that would be allowed to happen when there's a new QB here trying to develop a rythym with these guys.

By the way, I give Campbell a C. He's getting better though
