With the talent the Bengals have on offense, Lewis would be a fool to leave. Sure Pittsburgh has the better D, but Lewis can/will continue to build Cincy's. Not to mention the QB situation for both teams. I mean, Palmer vs. Big Ben, which would you take?!

I agree, Cowher probably will leave and Russ Grim will get the Pittsburgh job. Grim has been mentioned as a head coach candidate for the past few year so why not get a shot with a team that he is already apart of?

Yeah, I also had the impression that Grimm was being groomed to take over when Cowher resigned.

I'd bet Cowher's future lies in Cleveland -- he played and coached for the Browns under Schottenheimer. The question is when -- Crennel might get to come back for one more season, or he could get fired now.
Either way, Cowher as coach of the Browns would be a natural fit.

Grimm absolutely deserves the chance to coach. Heck, I was certain he was going to be named Lions head coach last offseason.
However, I don't think the Steelers can just anoint him the next coach (or Whisenhunt) just like I don't think the Redskins can just say that Williams will be the next head coach here. That would be a violation of the Rooney Rule right? Minority coaches have to at least be given an interview. And if you say well Grimm is the next head coach but we'll go ahead and interview Greg Blache anyway to appease the Rooney Law, it makes the whole idea of the Rooney Rule a scam. Which some argue it is already, but if any team has to abide by the rule it's the Steelers.

Could somebody tell me why Russ Grimm isn't on the 'Skins staff?

the steelers job isn't that great - they don't get nearly as close to the cap as other teams due to there small stadium.
