DOCKERY Times 1,000!!!!
Its obvious the guys on the line love playing with him, it keeps the chemistry there. He's vastly improved and he'd be alot cheaper I'd think. Plus what kind of a message does this send (again) to the rest of the team. I'll be very upset if we dont get Dock back, especially after Samuels said yesterday he'd restructure to keep him.

I must admit to being a big Dockery hater in the past. But man the guy has really improved. The lost weight has really improved his play. I think we need to stick the transition tag on him if he hits the free agent market.

Don't gety me wrong - I agree with you and the others and I am all for keeping our own - I have posted previously on other threads that I prefer the drafting method to building a team with a free agent here or there as icing on the cake. I hope that the FO is going after Dock hard - I just worry with our past history that when a current player asks for huge money for some reason the FO (whoever make the money decisions) lets the player get away. I hope that Dock will give the Redskins some leverage with negotiations and not ask for crazy money because moving to a new team is never as easy as it sounds - maybe this was a big reason Betts decided to stay.

Plus, Dock is one of our own, and I've always been in favor of us resigning our own players. Betts...Dockery....Good Start.

Steinbach is the better player, but with money and continuity in mind, it's in our best interest to resign Dockery. Steinbach would be another huge contract that we would complain about.

Yup, everyone always wants to give him crap, but he's been a GREAT guard for us over this year. He's surpassed Rabach as our weakest link on the line and is probably having a better year than Jansen.
He still has big problems in pass pro (as does Rabach and Jansen, at least this year), but it's tough to argue with what we've done on the ground this year without Portis.

I say we let Dockery go. He will definatly want too much money. Then we should sign Steinbach and make him the highest paid guard in the league. He deserves it.

I have seen on many free agent articles that Eric Steinbach is the best rated free agent guard on the market. We all know that Derrick Dockery is going to test the free agent market - so the question is what should the FO do - resign Derrick Dockery for the sake of conitunity or go after Eric Steinbach?
Actually according to Dock himself he wants to stay here. I think we'll free up teh space to resign him too.

Rabach is not a bad player, he's pretty solid. Jansen in my opnion is the most overrated Redskin on the roster. Zero pass protection ability. I would look to upgrade right tackle if at all possible.
