Would cutting Mark Brunell boost Jason Campbell's confidence?

I think that we SHOULD cut Brunell but bring in someone a little younger than Brunell but better than Collins because I really do not think that Campbell will be productive enough to last the entire year next year.

I hope that the quaterback Gods comes and help JC out during the offseason and he comes in next year slinging it like P. Manning but right now he is more like E. Manning and I would like some protection against him totally flubbing it next year. Collins nor Brunell is very good protection

Truthfully, I'd take Campbell over Manning all day long.

I don't Campbell has thrown a pick in like three weeks.

I don't think Collins will go anywhere. He knows this system inside and out and is a valuable guy to have around for the other QBs.

If the Skins have an ounce of foresight, they'll dump Collins (or Brunell, but we all know he isn't going anywhere) and get a backup who can take over the #2 spot in 2008. Brunell will be 38 and Collins 37, and that's too old for marginal QBs. It takes more than a preseason for a backup to grasp this offense - if we've learned nothing else this year, we've learned that.

Collins, however, is a relatively 'fresh' 37 year old QB. He hasn't taken much of a beating over his career, so I would think his experience in the system and the amount of dollars he's getting paid is really invaluable to this team.

that is by far the most ignorant post i have ever seen. this is why i stay away from here now there are too many people here who know aboslutely nothing about football and say some of damn dumbest things. JC is right where he needs to be at this point every game he has played we have been in and maybe could have won if it had not been for that sorry defense. Brunell is a team guy and would serve as a good mentor to JC.[/quote]

Ignorance is thnking that your opinion is more surpreme than anyone elses and your display of anger over a post does not bode well for your intelligence either

I do not know a lot about a lot of things but football is certainly not one of them.

id keep brunell and collins just because they will have been in the system and could acutally come in as backups. With that being said, this is the point in Brunells contract when everyone knew he had to restructure or be cut/retire. If he doesnt restructure, then peace out

There is a reason he hasn't seen a lot of action - he ain't that good. Plus, as Saunders tailors his offense for the Skins personnel, it becomes easier for someone without 5 years of experience running the Saunders-O (but who has actual QB skills and is younger) to step in.

I think that we get MB to restructure his contract and keep as our #2. We drop Collins and find a good QB which can learn the system over the year and then in 2008 we have a replacement for MB. I think if MB is asked to play a game or 2 he will be fresh and wouldbe the best person for the job because he knows the players and the system.

LOL...isn't the name "Saunders-O" starting to get on peoples nerves?

We use the supposedly "difficult scheme" as an excuse for every problem that arises on offense

The only way that that "O'' became a well named "O" is because they paid him lots of "$" to come to Washington.

Just like Marty-ball, air-Coryell, ground-Chuck or any other offense it is just as simple as getting ballers in DC who can run, catch, block and throw
