Just wondering - are the Redskins recievers getting open, Campbell or playcalling? I think our O-Line is giving enough time so I rule them out and our running game is churning out some big yards so teams are bringing 8 guys in a lot - so why is it that the Redskins not getting downfield as much.
It seemed like Issac Bruce was torching us at will and the recievers on the Rams were wide open.
Just wondering what the reason is our passing game was not clicking.

I did not remember anything deep like the Saints game. Granted our running game was doing quite well but I thought they would try to go deep a couple times to Moss or ARE to keep the Rams honest.

Campbell said in an interview today that they targeted our deep ball and wernt goign to give up the big play, they the coverages they called were meant to stop it so they had to check down a lot and look for shorter routes

what about the one rams corner that was at the line of scrimmage making tackle after tackle? why not go to his man? it seems like we make little or no adjustments after halftime

The Redskins receivers are too small which does not make for good targets for the quaterback. We need to bring in a big possession type receiver this will give us more options in the passing game than just throwing it long and praying that it gets to one of our smalish receivers who are being checked by guys who are just as fast and much taller

Well, for one thing, there seemed to be a lot of drops. Part of this is because Campbell throws the ball about 100 miles an hour...seriously, I think he would break my hand if I tried to catch one of his passes.

We've got the possession receiver that we need. He wears #47.
As for the small receivers not being big targets, Santana Moss plays the deep ball better than many many (most?) larger receivers.
I don't think a thing needs to be changed with the receivers. Just let them gel with 17. Continuity is key.

This is a very very very important thread. I don't really have any answers to the question, but I have seen this type of game many times before. Why was the deep ball or vertical passing game completely shut down???? I mean why was it figured out completely and our Recievers might as well have been a couple of little bitches. The O was gameplanned for draft picks in the second half and overtime today.

It's going to take a while. Campbell looks promising, but we knew when the team drafted him that he was going to be a fairly raw project. No one thought he was going to walk in and start lighting it up right away. Six starts isn't nearly enough time to start saying there's a problem with with the recievers. I mean, it's fairly obvious that Bryant is a bust (IMO), but beyond that Campbell needs time to generate some chemestry with Cooley, Moss, etc.
