skinsfan69 12-24-2006, 07:52 PM Nice post. It concerns me that Taylor is lost without Clark, lost without Springs, lost without Sportscurmudgeon. I understand this is a team sport, but he's supposed to be a star in this league. He can't be so dependent on others for his success on the field.
So true. I'm tired of all the talk how he misses Clark. Get over it and ball like your suppose too. Taylor played like crap today. Plain and simple.
VTSkins897 12-24-2006, 07:55 PM Is this grounds for a ban? It should be. Seriously.
probably but i'd calm down. everyone is upset and it's almost x-mas. be a man it's nothing to cry about.

absolutely agree.
skinsguy 12-24-2006, 08:10 PM Wow, I might have to banish my own thread to thread hell.
EVERYONE needs to chill out. If you're too pissed to see straight (which would be understandable), wait until you have calmed down to post. Engaging in personal attacks on the site is not only really lame and typically reserved for the resident 12 year olds, but its a bannable offense. So, let's play nice and look forward to next week's game where we'll keep the Gmen outta the playoffs and watch their team implode.
lol! It's probably best not to post threads about who or what lost a game for us on the sameday that we lose a very winnable overtime game.
Anyways, after everybody opens their Christmas presents up tomorrow, they will calm down, reflect on today, and realize that our team's reasons for losing really comes down to a very thin secondary. Betts' fumble, although hurt us, wasn't why we lost the game today, neither was clock management. Heck, I thought our offense was extremely solid today.
Adding depth to our secondary next year shows us a division winning team that has home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Holdman needs turn in his playbook. He was aweful.
My biggest concern is Campbell. 50% completion percentage is not going to get it done. He really struggles on 3rd downs. Late in the 4th, On 3rd and 4, we rushed the ball. If we had any confidence in Campbell they would've thrown.
3 Completions to WR's is a joke. More than Half his yards from cooley is a joke.
If this kid with the big arm isnt going to throw downfield, Why is he in there? He isn't accurate on the short throws. His release to too slow for quickpasses.
It looked like he had plenty of time today, I think he was only touched once and no one was ever open? QB play was just as bad as the defence proven by the fact that we ran on 3rd and 4 from our 34 yardline with 3 minutes remaining. I don't care that we put up alot of points either, he still played like a chump.
Taylor played like crap. But a few of his mistakes were from trying to recover from a teammates mistakes.
G.Williams is having some problems. Playing off coverages requires a lot of pressure. We got very little. Any QB can sit back and pick apart out zone defence with a little time.
Btw, the Ade got a costly penalty called on him. But he actually was playing his WR. He Matched up with a probowl WR and tried to shut him down(played great outside of that one play).
What is Rogers doing out there? He looks like he is playing safety. He is so scared of getting beat deep, he gives up Intermediate routes all day long. If this fool is scared of getting beat, he is playing the wrong position. I honestly would rather see Jimoh try to play corner like a real corner and get beat that see rogers play off and give up 1st downs all day.
4mrusmc 12-24-2006, 09:15 PM Things to think about next year: I would like to see S. Springs play safety opposite S. Taylor. When Springs goes down at corner back the impact is too great. We need an immediate starter to replace Springs at corner. We also need a stud Defensive End to replace Daniels. Maybe move Daniels to the interior part of the line since he cannot get any pressure out on the edge. Or just send Daniels on his way because other than that 5 game stretch last year he has been a nonfactor since he has joined us. A. Archuleta, um he needs to give all of his money back to our fine organization because ever since he inked his deal to come here, he has sucked balls! We need to get a monster linebacker or maybe try to move Arch. there and see what he can do. Don't worry, P. Prealou (sp?) will be back next year to help out at saftety or corner. And freaking G. Williams needs to get over himself and start to coach these guys up to their potential. There defense is fixed!

I think you got to have cutting Holdman in there as well - add linebacker to the free agent list wish. If we move Shawn to safety he will need to restructure his contract - than the team will go after Clements because of his familairy with G Willimas to shore up corner.
I think Daniels is to small for the interior - drafting Alan Branch from Michigan solves that problem. If we cut Archie it has to be post June 1st to spread the cap hit. With these moves we just need a DE to come in and heplp get sacks.
AlvinWalton'sNeckBrace 12-24-2006, 10:30 PM This may be a little late...but the cursing is rediculous...as far as Betts goes...he didn't lose the game, the O played well I thought, anytime you score that many points, you should win. The D lost the game, but the minute he did that...I looked at my dad and said, "This is why Portis starts" Does anyone remember when S. Davis used to fumble at terrible times? He got real bad at holding onto the ball down on the 1 yard line it seemed. Betts kind of remindes me of him in that respect.
riggoraider 12-24-2006, 10:37 PM You're goddamn right he has, but everyone wants to give him a pass because he's behind Clinton and has had 5 straight 100 yard games, guess what? They haven't won that many of em. He's fumbled away 2 games this season on drives that should have given the team the lead. This one would have put the game away. Nice job, punk, now I'm glad you were injured for the majority of your career.
You sound like a guy who was waiting on Betts to mess up so that your argument for Portis would stand up. Betts is an outstanding rusher who got the ball stripped away....point blank...it happens.
Clinton has not brung a superbowl to Washington himself

Betts is showing that he can be a great backup/relief pitcher when healthy. He is no Portis, though, and I, respectfully, believe that some of the "Betts is better than/equal to Portis" arguments are silly given everything we know about both players.
