Great Football Outsiders article involving an indepth breakdown of our win over the Saints. Discusses defensive issues we've ahd all year and shows how they were fixed at least temporarily. On point on the struggles of the red zone offense when compared to the success of the offense in the rest of the field.

Yeah, I agree with his assesment of Campbell. I still can't believe all the people criticizing him after last week on this site. It seriously blows my mind....

Yeah, I agree with his assesment of Campbell. I still can't believe all the people criticizing him after last week on this site. It seriously blows my mind....I'm just miffed at why everything goes down the field. Campbell's completing 50% of his passes because of we throw down the field virtually every passing down and consequently can't sustain drives and only score 17 points/week. He needs to complete more passes, and I really think Al Saunders is putting him (and our defense) in a tough situation by calling so many vertical routes.
He needs to force the ball less and take his underneath routes to pick up yardage. If he does that, his yards per attempt will come up along with his completion percentage. It's too bad that we get this running game with Betts, and are just horribly inefficent in the passing game.
He makes those deep throws with such precision, so you know hes got a future in this league. It's just that what hes doing right now isnt working.
