Its such a large cap figure. more importantly, IT MAKES SENSE TO SEE IF HE CAN PLAY IN THIS SYSTEM!! I mean, since when does a guy get 5 months, and after that, the team decides he's not capable? I think he should get 1 more year but we should definately have a contingency plan.

Give him another year???? He's not a rookie. He's a seasoned vet.
Unfortunately he likely will be back due to cap numbers, unless we can unload him in a trade.
ps- why do we continue to talk AA in every thread?

i was just thinking about all the AA hatred. Its justified, but still, i think its extremely rash to say "he's gone" after one season. If he gets more comfortable in this system, his play could go up.

He will never be a cover safty though, and that's what we need to compliment Taylor.
I still like the idea of making him an LB.

Sorry to say but he's definitely gone. I don't understand why some are holding out hope for him. He's an experiment gone wrong and they quickly shut him down. I honestly don't see a good reason why the coaches would want him back.

100% agreed. The cap figure is indeed large, but the 'Skins have the flexibility to handle it. He has so little value in our defense that he's now not even getting one snap.

People seem to think the coaching staff is giving up on him. No way, Jose. They gave him plenty of chances to learn the system and show what he can do. Bottom line, he can't cover well enough to be on our defense.

The day he gets cut can't come fast enough for my tastes.

I think they have to wait at least one year to soften the cap blow.

I hope they give him another chance, like I said the bears were interested in him as well. I doubt that interest was not warranted at all. I am sure he is effective at a safety if used to his strengths. I blame GW for picking AA up without knowing that he will not be a good fit for the system. I am not gonna give all the blame to AA .

Arch is good as gone. I think the most the Skins could possibly hope for at this point would be to unload him to another team in exchange for some compensation. But since he has little to no trade value, he'll likely get the axe.

I still have a tiny bit of hope that he comes back to camp a new player, but it's highly unlikely given all we've seen thus far. It'll come down to a business decision; is it too costly to cut him, or would it be worse for team chemistry to keep him if he's not going to get any playing time?
He was never a great cover guy, but it also seems that the neck injury has made him tentative in hitting. I wonder to what degree his coverage ability has been impacted by that injury. It does seem he is unable to run & look back at the same time!
