I understand that cutting him creates a cap hit, but I really don't want to see him on the field ever again.

I'm curious to see what his role will be on our team in 2007.

When you walk out on a limb, it can do 1 of 2 things, support you, or break. If you don't take a chance, you aren't living.
I don't blame Williams for taking a chance. He thought it would work, it didn't. We all make mistakes. Live and learn. I do blame Archuletta for playing like complete crap though. I think he signed his contact and took a back seat along with all that cash.

I do agree with your point about taking chances, but at the same time they need to be well calculated chances. He's an awfully expensive mistake to have to swallow.

You really think he's coming back?

he needs to put on 20 pounds and play linebacker. He can tackle.

Very true.
Wouldn't be the first time we endured a horrible signing. Dieon, Bruce Smith etc.
Which brings up an interesting question: Is AA the worst Skins signing ever?

I don't know the exact amount but its not that bad. Redskins front office are absolute pros at setting up these "huge" contracts. They actually don't pay out until the back end.......AA aint gettin close to that $$$$$$.

That's the release fee, not his salary, and it is that big. His release fee is $9 million, which is how much we have to pay if we cut him. Check out the cap sheets:

Yes, he was definitely worse than Holdman or Marshall. Our secondary with him in there was a joke. It's one thing if you're not a great cover guy at LB, it's another thing entirely when you are a safety.

We have really slowed down with giving up the huge pass plays since we benched him, he must really have been THAT BAD

I'd say the worst move was signing Jeff George and at the same time not giving Brad Johnson a new contract.

That was pretty bad.

Would Heath Shuler count as a draft pick signing?

Shuler was a bust, plain and simple. Every team has had their share.

But knowingly bringing in a coach killer like George and basically thumbing your nose to a guy who took your team to the playoffs just the year before was a horrible mistake.
