Everyone gambling on McIntosh

So Rocky's not ready, neither was McCune (now with Miami).

Pierce, Clark, and LaVar were all expendable. And Archullleta appearantly can't play anymore either.

I hate to keep sounding so negative, I really do. But I'm just not all together sold anymore about what this staff says.

What's your point about McCune? He has 0 tackles for McCune, so he's not even good enough to crack the special teams.

I'm not saying give up on Rocky...I still beleive in him, what I am saying is he should benefit from an offseason of just learning.

My point is, it seems like we draft guys we're very high on one minute, and then the next they can't learn the system or whatever the case may be.

I know what you're saying though. We keep saying that we might as well play Rocky to see what we have. Well, GW sees what he's got every day in practice. I don't think Rocky is there yet - if he was he'd be playing a more prominent role right now.

Can we go into 2007 planning on starting Rocky or Holdman? I think we have bigger needs than LB, but if we have the cap space once we're done filling holes at SS, CB, and DT, then I think we'd be remissed if we didn't pursue an Adalius Thomas to solidify our LB corps.

Bringing tons of guys in is always dangerous because of the learning curve. Just because we bring in Adalius doesn't mean Rocky couldn't earn a starting job. But by the same token, can we play well enough on D with Warrick Holdman/Rocky McIntosh?

Just to play devil's advocate a bit, don't they say the Skins look like Super Bowl contenders in practice? There's nothing like a game when live bullets are flying to see what someone is made of.

I don't think it's a good sign that Rocky hasn't been able to crack the lineup, especially on this defense. I don't think all hope is lost, but it would have been nice to see more progress up until now. I don't know about you guys, but I'm very reluctant to head into 2007 with Marcus, Lemar, and Rocky/Warrick as our LB corps.

I seriously blame Dale Lindsay for this--he's one of those old-school tough guys who doesn't like to go with rookies. He is not one for flexibility. Look, Rocky is beginning to get time, which is a good sign, and GW has had nothing negative to say, for all this "Rocky can't play" stuff. GW generally lets it be known when he's down on a guy (Lavar, i.e.). And that has not occurred here, to my knowledge,

This same stuff was said about Campbell when MB was playing. He's not good enough, he doesn't practice well, etc. It wasn't true. And the coaches never said it. My feeling is that unless we hear it from the coaches, there's no reason to doubt Rocky--yet!

Why didn't Beasts write one of his more descriptive thread titles like "Blah..."

Anyway, what's the question exactly?
