How do you MISS a delay of game?!

i can understand missing it by like a fraction of a second but that was nearing 2 seconds... pathetic

Santana clearly had his hand UNDER the ball...AND...on the 'Aints only TD drive, they clearly did not get the ball snapped before the play clock ran out but no call and they gained good yardage down to the 2 and scored in the next 2 plays. A loss would have compounded the frustration, but still very glaring no calls. Yeah... and last year, Plummer didn't fumble on the goal line and Allstot got in.
And don't forget about the sorry, no-account line judge who didn't have the balls to throw a flag when Brees threw an illegal pass AFTER scrambling past the line of scrimmage. When Gibbs threw the red challenge flag, here's how the official's huddle probably sounded:

Ref: So did the QB still have posession of the ball after crossing the line of scrimmage?

Line Judge: Duh, yeah, I think so.

Ref: So WTF didn't you throw your flag?

Line Judge: Duh, I was waiting for you to throw yours first.

Ref: That's your call as the Line Judge. Pull your head out of your ass and wake up!!!

At least the Ref did the right thing by giving back the Skins challenge and calling the penalty after the fact.

Baldinger the idiot totally missed commenting on what should have been the delay of game you mentioned. I believe that was on a key 3rd down play that set up the Saints only TD. I believe the Umpire is responsible for spotting delay of game calls, and again, the crew had their thumbs up their asses on that one.

Not to be apologetic for refs, but they don't matter one way or another 90% of the time how a game turns out. They can make horrendous calls at times (looking at you, officiating crew from Super Bowl 40), but it's really up to the teams to decide the outcome of the game. The Skins have gotten both good calls and bad calls this season, we won today, and that's all that matters!

That wasn't exactly an obvious call. I didn't see the game in HD today but I couldn't tell that he definitively got his hand under the ball.

Maybe you need 6 beers to see it...

It did look like Moss had his hand under the ball, but there was no way it was conclusive enough to overturn it. Good challenge though.

I'm too late...Matty took the words I was going to say and posted them under his name. Bastard.

The non-call on the delay of game was horrendous. The non-call on Carter, who got tackled, near the Saints end zone was pretty bad. Wife had to tell me to lower my voice because she didn't want the neighbors to think I was beating her.

I thought he caught it when they replayed it but I also said to myself that it's too close to reverse. Also, I could have sworn it was Randle El not Moss on that play.

Delay of game should have been called as well as at least two holds. Funny, I rarely pay attention to our offensive linemen as far as holding goes but you can be damn sure I'll notice when the other team does.

On the Saints' very first play from scrimmage I swear Andre Carter was held and it looked down right obvious. I could be wrong but he tried to turn and get to Brees but the OT held him back. On the Santana catch it looked like he caught it to me but I can understand them not overturning it I guess. The Delay of game, I almost spilled my beer on that shit ! Overall, I'm happy the Skins won but I tell you when the league wants someone to win they do what they can don't they ? That's just my opinion

I thought Carter was held all day--the tackle from behind was the most obvious. He's really stepped up his game.

But it's hard to complain when we get so few calls against us--we are one of the most penalzied teams. I think we probably benefit from non-calls more than most, given our history this season.
