How can you say it was without a doubt the wrong call, when it was a call that clearly helped to win the game??
I already said why in my previous post

I already said why in my previous post MTK 12-17-2006, 06:41 PM I already said why in my previous post Thanks for the clarification... nice talking to u. Citizens for 81 12-17-2006, 06:42 PM What if the Skins had gone for it and didn't get a 1st down or a TD and NO tied it up and won in OT? Everyone would be saying how that was the wrong call and you have to get the points in order to go up by more than a FG with 4 min left in the game. skinsguy 12-17-2006, 06:44 PM It was without a doubt the wrong call. If the Redskins got 2 yards, the game would be over, if they didnt the Saints would be 25 yards farther back. Even if they had the same drive they that they did, they wouldnt have been able to kick a field goal because they would be in worse field position. Gibbs just got lucky. Remember, it is easier kicking field goals inside a dome than it is outside with a breeze blowing. I guess you have to think of it in terms like this: #1 offense in the league, and no matter how good our defense had been playing, it has been notorious this year for giving up big drives when we needed a stop. While certainly a TD by us would've put the game pretty much out of reach. Everyone would be saying how that was the wrong call and you have to get the points in order to go up by more than a FG with 4 min left in the game. Your reasoning explains why Gibbs made the decision to kick the FG, and in my opinion it was the proper decision to make. With that three points, NO was forced to score a TD on their last drive with no other options available. The pass to Moss, prior to the FG, I would have liked to see go pass the first down marker as opposed to two yds. short, then maybe Gibbs would not have had to make that FG decision at all. gabe1984 12-17-2006, 07:20 PM I can't decide who is more annoying Baldinger or Bill Maas, both of those guys are huge bafoons. MTK 12-17-2006, 07:21 PM Baldy still couldn't say Antwaan today. LOL By the way Maas is by far the worst announcer in the history of sports. Baldinger isn't even in the same conversation as Maas. gabe1984 12-17-2006, 07:28 PM Baldy still couldn't say Antwaan today. I know this is a football forum, but Bill Walton makes me want to put a bullet in my skull when I hear him announce a game. |
