What positives should we build on?

We've heard enough about what areas of need we have...how we "suck" etc. So what areas are we confident in and will not need to address at all come the offseason?

I like the starters on our offense, maybe a add a blocking TE and some depth on the line. Otherwise I think we've got good young players to build with on offense.

I agree with Tafkas. Offense looks solid.

You can pick apart the defense, but the offense really seems like it should gel together next season. The Betts signing will pay off as well.

I agree with the above, espicially a blocking TE, although I'm of the opinion that the interior O Line could use a talent influx. Thomas is fine.

I wouldn't be opposed using the first round pick on an O Lineman, but outside of that possibility it absolutely has to be a defensive choice.

I agree 100%

Trading down I assume will help our team the most, especially since this is a very talented draft class. It's going to be interesting to see how this off-season unfolds.

Will we splurge on free agents again? Any more big names? Will AA be cut, find his niche in GW's system as a blitzing safety, or be an expensive special teams player? Who stays, who goes? I'm curious as hell to see how this unfolds...

Also...

Anyone know what draft picks we do have for next year. I tried to google it and find out, but just got a bunch of junk. What kind of website would have up to date information on draft picks, salary cap, etc...

It's hard to sort through all the garbage and find the info you really need.

God bless the internet.

Other than depth along the OL and a backup QB if Brunell retires/leaves, I wouldn't touch the offensive starters and I would definitely re-sign Dockery.

Defensively we definitely need to take a long hard look at a few spots.

At corner we need to determine if Springs can get back to 100% and play at a high level, is Rogers worthy of being the #2 corner again? And we definitely need to address the nickel spot. It would be great to find a guy capable of spot starting at the #2 when needed. Wright isn't that guy.

At safety we need to find a companion for Taylor. Clark was that guy but what's done is done. Fox probably isn't that guy either. Vincent could be a short term solution but he's long in the tooth and is too injury prone at this point in his career.

At linebacker we need to determine if Marshall can bounce back. Was he limited this year due to injury and spotty line play up front? And we definitely need to address the outside, can Rocky actually play? Holdman is definitely not a solution. I really expect us to make a splash in free agency at linebacker.

Along the defensive line is Golston going to be a long term solution, he sure seems like he could be. If he can bulk up a bit more without losing any quickness he could be the answer next to Griffin. Will Montgomery be ready to step in and contribute regularly in the rotation? Big Joe's days as a starter are over, but how much can he give us in a rotation? Can Griffin get healthy? At the least I think we'll make a move or two for depth along the line.

And then there's the kicking situation. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Suisham can continue nailing his kicks, he sure has a nice leg so if he can just get the accuracy part down we could be ok. That might be wishful thinking though. There are a few quality kickers out there that we could look to bring in.

The position on the team I feel best about is RB. Portis and Betts, rock-solid 1-2 punch.

I would not do a thing to the offensive line except build more depth. Definitely resign Dockery. They're opening HUGE holes right now for Betts, they're run-blocking animals. They're tough, they play through pain, and their pass protection has been solid this year.

Moss is still a stud WR, Cooley is still a dangerous TE.

I wouldn't change our DEs, I like Carter Daniels and Wynn.

I'm not satisfied with our DTs, I don't think Golston is anything more than a rotation player. I want a big guy up front. I'm not satisfied with SS, we need a replacement for Archuleta/Fox/Vincent. I'm not satisfied with CB. Maybe Springs and Rogers can be good for one more year, but K Wright is not a good enough nickel for my tastes, and we need a young guy to bring along anyway.

I like Frost. I'll give Suisham a chance, but I'd much rather have a vet kicker who has hit on 75% or greater in his career.

And I say we ride or die with Campbell. The team will go as he goes.

I pretty much echo everything that's been said.

I actually feel good about the team all the way around. One person that has to come back, in my opinion, is Al Saunders. I think he and JC will log a lot of hours this summer.

Even though as a whole this season sucked balls I'm (as usual) a bit happy with the team we have. Jason Campbell looks like he can turn out to be a pretty good QB next year. I'd keep the O-line intact. Even though they didn't play like they did last year, they were learning an entirely new offense. Find another tight end. I never thought I'd be wishing Robert Royal were still here. Actually I didn't want him to leave but I mean it seemed like he tried to drop passes sometimes. Free agency or the draft should solve that problem. Find depth for the O-line if they are not already there. I read today that Jason Campbell is already planning summer workouts with the receivers which is good.

Special teams seems on point to me. Rock is a nice kick returner, Suisham may turn out to be ok. We'll have to see how he ends the season off though, unless a gift lands in the Skins' lap then let's take him into next season. Frost is looking better as well.

I wouldn't actually rip the defense up though. I'd let go of Salave'a, he's long in the tooth and is becoming rather injury prone. Golston looks to be a baller. The FO get's a new one ripped in them for their scouting but someone got their work in on this one. I wonder how Montgomery has looked. If we can find another DE then cool but I actually like Phillip Daniels. He's not Dwight Freeny or anything but he's solid. Carter is looking like the guy that we thought he would be, and Griffin is still earning his money. The linebackers, oh lord, well the only way that I would be truly happy is if we could bring Antonio Pierce back and move Marshall back to OLB. Since that will not be happening anytime soon, I'd see if I could get Lance Briggs to put him with Washington and Marshall. I think marshall just had a bad year, he needs to get back on because last year he was pretty good in the middle. Find a corner, either in the draft or FA. Springs won't be here forever and Rogers is having a bad year. Let's just hope that it's only one year. I know that it's a snowballs chance in hell but if we could get Smoot back then I'd be all for it. Keep Vincent around for having a vet to teach Sean, groom him to lead this D.

I have some issues with GW, which I won't re hash here, but I like this defense for '07.

Two guys that must return are Washington and Mr. Taylor. For some damn reason, I still think Rogers will be a good corner.
