dgack 12-10-2006, 10:05 PM I agree 100%. Thats why I voted for Campbell. Betts does deserve it I just think it would be best not to praise Betts to much so we can avoid the trade Portis talks.
It's ridiculous. If anything, it means we've got two RB's with two totally different styles, that we can unleash on opponents next year. Will totally suck for fantasy football players, but I am loving Betts' success because it will force defenses to respect his presence when he's in the game along with Clinton now.
Ladell should break 1000 on the ground this year, which means we'll have the luxury of two legitimate, 1000-yard rushers who can also both catch. Now if Saunders can just take advantage....
dgack 12-10-2006, 10:07 PM Also, am I the only one who thinks the 2nd INT was totally on Cooley, or at least the kind of fluke that isn't really the QB's fault?
I mean, a stat's a stat, and just like when Santana would catch a 7 yard screen and turn it into a 60 yard TD scamper, Brunell would get credit for a score, but still... I saw a ball hit Chris right in the numbers and he just muffed it straight into the arms of Mike Lewis, surely that one was on the receiver, not Jason.
cookskin21 12-10-2006, 10:17 PM The Bright spot of the day for me was when they teased me with a few seconds of the lovely cheerleaders!! :goodjob:
JWsleep 12-10-2006, 10:22 PM Betts did great, but I went with ARE. Great catches, decent returns, and one sick throw. Been waiting for him to show what he can do--I found that very encouraging.
Betts was nice, but, not to take anything away, the o-line was kicking ass on the run blocking. THere were some mack-truck size holes there. (Philly has given up a lot of yards on the ground lately.)
Suisham was good, but only because I feared the worse, and he hit the makeable FGs.
Campbell is a work in progress, but that TD pass was a thing of beauty, and we saw again that the kid gets up off the mat after making mistakes. It will come.

Yeah it was more on Cooley, but he should of still never thrown the ball because it was 3rd down and Cooley was well covered and had no way of getting the first down. But all in all, I think Cambell is playing OK - if he would just stop on the big interceptions.
I voted for Betts because after 2 weeks of that kind of running he deserves it (does anyone else remember the stat of how Gibbs never loses when a rusher goes over 100 yards...so much for that) but I don't think we should trade Portis...he is a better blocker and Betts also has nagging injury problems (like Portis). So, if we keep them both at least one of them should be suiting up each week.
CrazyCanuck 12-10-2006, 10:51 PM Big Money Betts baby!

i dont know what u saw but the ball did not hit cooley in the numbers, it was actually thrown ahead of him and deflected up by lewis. it was a dumb playcall by the coach but i think campbell shouldnt have forced it

Yeah, I'm stuck in B'More and just can't bring myself to drop several hundred bucks for Season Ticket just to see the Skins, so I frequently just get quick replays and in this case I didn't even get the replay on my larger TV, so it just looked like a receiver bloop pop-up. In any case, it didn't look uncatchable by any stretch, which is what I was getting at.
skinsfanthru&thru 12-10-2006, 11:53 PM I had a feeling Betts was capable of something of that nature, but it was incredibly nice to see a kicker with some consistency wearing a skins uniform. my second vote would go to ARE cuz it was good to see him and Campbell starting to build some chemistry and hopefully the emergence of another threat to prevent teams from consistently doubling Moss.

that was the first thing i thought too, is it just me or do the defensive teams know when the skins are running certain plays like their is a key, and they know it is coming.....like screen, counter trey, quick slant....its not that they are bad plays just either called at the wrong times or they know when it should be coming......
