I almost drove my car off the road when I heard the terms of this deal. Only the redskins would give this kind of deal to a guy that has not even had 1 complete season as a top flight back. I congratulate Betts for getting this contract but IMO this is another example of why the redskins continue to flounder as an NFL bottom dweller.

That's great he got an extension, but what bout TJ Duckett???? We gave up a round pick for him and we are not gonna resign him????? WTF is that???

Portis isn't going anywhere, let's just stop with that nonsense. Teams need two quality backs these days. Betts should see an increased load next year and with the banging Portis takes that's a good thing. Betts' deal is very cap friendly as well. Not sure where any negativity is coming from in that regard but oh well, some are never satisfied.

This shouldn't come as any sort of newsflash or anything, but TJ wasn't brought here as a long term solution.

Betts is a better all around player.

i think we have/had more pressing needs than RB. another bad use of money for the skins.

That's really not that bad. I thought we would open our pocketbooks, but I am sure it is back loaded so he will only hit maybe 1 mil ish towards the cap next year. So he'll be around for 3 years or so, meaning we'll get the best of his career if Portis gets injured again. That's a cheap SOLID backup if you ask me. If Betts left next year, we would all be worried if Portis went down, now we don't have to.
Let's not forget, Betts is a great receiver out of the backfield.
It was a good move.

You don't think a back up RB is a pressing need??????
Sorry man, back rb's are used every day. How many RB's can play every down of every game? None!
