I must say guys I think this offseason other that bringing Gibbs in and our great coaching staff, was a major disappointment in terms of our personal moves. Again we craped away our draft picks and over payed big time for players. Thats gonna break the team up in two years.

First move, get rid of Champs ass. They were right to trade champ away, but denver def. got the better deal out of it. And we really gave Portis to much money. Here's what I would have done. One of the trade offers I believe we we got from the Jets was Shaun Ellis and the 12th pick. I would have taken that deal for sure. That would give us a great up and coming d-linemen that is coming off of a 12.5 sack year and is great against the run.

Second move, not trading for brunnel. We again could have gotten this guy for much cheaper by just waiting for the jaguars to release him and outbidding people. Plus look at the other list of vetern quaterbacks we could have had for half the price: Jeff Garcia, Tim Couch, Kurt Warner. Ramsey is clearly our future we didn't need to do this.

Free agency: I love the signing of Marcus Washington. I would have signed Robaire Smith over Corn. Griffen, who we again gave way to much money for. Just look at the numbers Smith: sacks 4.5, tackles 35 Griffen: 1 sack
I also would have signed Ahmed Plummer over shuan Springs. He is younger and would have cost a lot less. This way we would actually have the money to resign Smoot.

Draft.
1. Sean Tayler Love this pick, guy is gonna change the game
12. Stephan Jackson Gives a young star running back, who can pound it inside
51. Antwan Odom Gives us a young pass rusher with great potential
3 rd. pick Randy Starks Gives us a great steal at DT. The thing scouts forgot about this guy is that he was the youngest player in the draft, and is really gonna improve.
5. Chris Cooley.

As you can see my moves actually solve our biggest problem from last year, the d-line. Our strong draft gives us some young talent which were gonna be able to keep together. Plus is much more fincially beneficial to build through the draft.

Every move is not going to please everyone. I trust JG & Co's moves this offseason. Some I don't necessarily agree with (going after Brunell so early and then giving him a huge contract) but others I love - the Portis deal. A strong playoff run will make things all better, I promise.

how do you know than we didnt try and get plummer and smith? We cant get everyone we want, sometimes they want to go to other teams, which in this case they did.

I'd rather have Springs, he played in a Pro Bowl and just seems kind of snake bitten by injuries. He's a local product and maybe the homecooking will do him some good. Plus he's bigger than Plummer and I'd rather not have two smallish cornerbacks, especially with Keyshawn and TO in the division.

the jets strongly denied offering ellis. I think they were offering lamant jordan and a couple other crappy guys plus their 1st rounder if memory serves me right. the only 3 big downsides I've seen this summer have been: 1.) overpaying for brunnel when he was gonna become a freeagent and we wouldn't have had to give up our 3rd rounder in a relatively deep draft. but I do like bring him in, cuz we need the depth and if ramsey can't handle competion for the job and starts to complain again, I like the guy, but I don't want our QB being someone like that. 2.) I honestly think we had more leverage in the bailey-portis deal and snyder blew it by adding in the 2nd round pick when it should have been a straight up trade if not us getting a pick in return with portis. 3.) I hope daniels can perform like he did a couple of years ago and I like the addition of griffin, but I would have liked to have seen us go after Winstrom as our 1st player to aquire and then cut wynn after june 1st.

of course the return of Gibbs, the addition of Williams, and the aquisitions of fore mentioned players as well as washington, barrows, springs, raymer, thrash and the drafting of taylor and cooley far out weigh the negatives.

I know because they ended up with deals of less of equal value.

That is a very good point.

some players actually want to play in certain places, and money isnt always everything, you dont know that for sure, just as i dont. You cant jump to conclusions like that unless u know

009, I think you understimate the importance of Brunnell to Gibbs. He wanted a veteran guy from the get go, and this is the guy he targeted. I think it has as much to do with character issues as anything, though I don't think those other QBs you listed are as good a fit as Brunell, or as good, period. That was the first thing Gibbs said he was going to do, and then, suprise, the first thing he did. You would have started your tenure as GM fighting with Washington's HOF football legend coach. You would have been lambasted on the number one fan website, THE WARPATH. ;)

remember, they are looking at a two to three year window, Im sure Gibbs prefers the experience of Springs to Plummer. Plus he is local, and Snyder is always going to prefer someone who can make him more $$$
