You, my friend, are an idiot. Last year= second round of the playoffs, if that's not "realistic" I don't know what is...

LMsexyAO, never post again. I haven't been a member here very long, but I havent seen you post anything that wasn't just putting down someone else, try some prozac or sumtin, it works better than bashing on people you dont know.

You've been here a max of 5 days. Mind your business, kid.

I guess this will put me in the minority here, but I would give the coaching staff at least one more season. I want Gibbs back. As head coach only.

Give Saunders another year for his offense to integrate with these players, if we’re as incompetent and inept this time next season, then get rid of him. Williams has proven he can coordinate a top five defense, so I’m not going to throw him under the bus because the players that worked 2 years ago now appear old.

The only thing that needs to change is the director of player personnel. Bring Beathard back, Casserly, pry away Scott Peoli from New England ... something. Anything but the dopes that are in charge now. I know some will disagree, but even those people have to admit that the strategy we have used for the past three seasons with Gibbs, and every other year except for the ‘01 season under Schottenheimer have been an outright disaster.

I agree. BB won't come back becasue he and Gibbs can't co-exist. But Casserly would not be a bad move. People forget that when he left the Skins were in real good shape. We were under cap and had draft picks. Now look at us. No draft picks and it may be 2-3 years before we can be good again.

Let's all not forget he all of sudden left us back in the day to be with his son. He said "I felt a tickle on my cheek when he kissed me and realized he had a beard, so I need to be a father." We all respected that, but 3 seconds later he was working 18 hours a day in NASCAR. If someone gets on his case during the offseason, or if we lose out, he could very easily feel this is not where he is supposed to be.
I feel the above quoted comment is his "escape clause". Time will tell.

Completely different reason the first time. At the point, he was feeling the effects of his diabetes big time, and already proven all he needed to prove as an NFL coach, and of course wanting to be with his family. Now, his diabetes is under control, he's proven what he wanted to in racing, his family is all grown, and he feels the need to prove himself once again in the NFL. Gibbs won't give up until he feels him stepping aside is the only way to turn things around with this team.

I'm just happy we have stability. I can't see us not improving next year.

Was Casserly with the team during Gibbs first go round? I know Bethard was the GM then, and boy was he good.

Yes. He was assistant GM under BB and then GM from 89-97.

Let's hope Gibbs can right the ship next season and that he and the other coaches can resist tearing up the roster during the offseason. Let's actually keep a draft pick or two, also.

It's stunning that we have lost twice as many games as we've won this year after the run at the end of last season. I hope the end of last year wasn't a fluke and that we can have as dramatic a turnaorund for the better next season.
